I agree...
A shark and a ray in a 60? Sure, it can be done, but it's like living in a closet all your life. I'm just curious why someone would waste $$ on two 60g tanks instead of one 100+g tank. Then to top it off you mount it on top of speakers with a television in between.
I hope you don't rent this place.....imagine being the landlord with a tenant who cust holes in the walls.
I hope you don't own this place.... imagine trying to sell a home/apartment with a completely custom wall. If you bought the place you'd have to have the same size TV or tear down and rebuild that wall.
I don't mean to flame you....in fact I think it looks good. but what if you decide to get a bigger TV, a Tivo, or an extra A/V component? Good luck with it.

I dont think anyone else noticed this.....in that first pic with the foxface, the ray and the shark.... had the lights just come on????
that foxface looks very stressed.....he has lost all of his color....he doesnt look so good....
and its not that he just woke up either, hed be alittle more darker, not pale. you say your fish arent stressed out???

actualy.... i just noticed about the foxface. i didnt get to see if before cause as soon as i saw the size of the tank and that there were a ton of big fish in there, that was all i noticed.
Carshark: you asked what the blue tang died from? hmm.... i thought it would be quite obvious.. from so many large, roaming in a small tank!

Just because you havent noticed stress doesnt mean it is not there. IMO, i dont htink it is possible for those fish not to be stressed based on my knowlege of them.

It is a nice setup. A beutiful set up in fact. Although i dont think the speakers are a good idea. Nor your fish selection. Those are beautiful fish, but dont belong in a 60 gallon tank. There are pleanty of other beautiful fish that you can have in a tank that size and now put any pressure on the fish and have them die prematurely. Also, taht is what this sight is for You cannot expect that if you post a pic of your set up, that someone wont have anything to say about it except "looks great" This site is to make us all improve our tanks and to learn more. And we are trying to give you info based on our knowlege and all you can say is that wasnt what you were looking for? I know you love your fish. We all so, but arent you concerned that you cannot provide them with a proper home when everyone here agrees with eachother about the subject? They look fabulous, but i dont think it is right to be selfish and put them in a small tank where they do not belong......

look ok but also as said prior. to many fish to big of fish and WAY to small of a tank.
as for the look it looks ok but the loudspeakers look kind of Ghetto. if your going to dissplay a speaker like that atleast make it a good one. as for the fish being stressed well my tank is right next to my theater room with 1700 RMS running 7.1 and I never had a problem. keep in mind the tank is not sitting on top of the speakers like that and i only run it for movies but i still think that part of your set up is the least or your problems.
as for building in a wall in an APT to me it looks like all he did was put up a false wall around the tanks that is removable. if ya ook at a few of the pics you can see huge gaps all over the place.
with that said the "idea" is good the planning is very poor

but yes the reason I made the comment about the speakers underneath the tank initially was because of the faux wall, it is not sturdy and can cause serious vibrations and will affect the tank very badly

yes i'm fine. in the last few days we have had ALOT of post that are just WAY OFF BASE with the right and proper way to go about this hobby and noone seems to be saying anything. so i kinda got erked by this one. BTW had to edit my post should have been 1700 not 17000 lol. i'm also a huge speaker aficionado kind of a sicknes with me. when i see some i feel obilgated to say something about what i see lol. before the tanks ALL of my cash went to our set up. believe it or not my wife was thrilled i found something cheaper lol

Oh no i completely understand, and the crappy posts lately, there has been quite a few....but I am at a brickwall here, because i have also noticed lately instead of listening, people who didnt realize that there is a problem once its its pointed out they defend it and say everyone else is wrong, so not much you can say to this....so i have let it go.. find out the hard way i suppose...DONT HATE THE GAME errr something....what a dolt!!!

oh and i was going to ask you about the 17,000, i was like when can i come over and watch the Matrix or Hero? lol

WOW, you're correct! I like your observation captain obvious, you must be the one that went to college in your family. Well just like I stated this is my apartment and no I don't have a big surround-sound system like most rich people. I thought we were in here for our "hobbie" or even for our love of the fish world.... I think they have an "electronics" forum somewhere in the world wide web... thanx for noticing my access door on the side, but I'm not really an architect or a hard-core engineer. Thanx for your opinion, but well the way you commented was a bit rude and uncalled for. I agree that everyone has their own opinion but my mommy taught me " if u don't have nothing nice to say u shouldn't say anything at all!"

he has been absolutely slammed here, but with a purpose, that is an unsafe environment, especially the species he has in there, those are really awesome fish, and id hate to see them suffer like that.....screw the soft hearted BS, this was how you felt, and rightly so!!!
as he stated his mommy said if you cant say anything nice dont say it all, if he is really that hurt by it he is welcome to go visit her.....this is not cool and i believe this thread should be deleted period. it is useless and i am still not understanding the concept of his tanks with saltwaterfish.com's pics of their fish? and especially with the date attached on the bottom. was he really trying to post those as his own???

please do i spent all my cash for years on our theater room and have noone to show it to lol. oh well we love it. as for the tread itself i wont not say it serves no purpose..
IMO theit is a great example of what NOT to do for newb's. they see the post and then see that NOONE finds it to be a good idea they may not try it themself

Yeah so i bought the condo that i live in now, I could have spent less somewhere else but the clubhouse has 2 tanning beds, huge business center, massive workout facility, full size indoor/outdoor pool, hot tub, and a sauna. AND a 15 person movie theatre we can use at any time. I was like ohhh Im in!! never used it! come to think of it, i dont think many people have!! go figure! I have it rented for the super bowl this year though(the clubhouse) its a 400 dollar deposit to rent out the entire clubhouse with a stocked fridge sitting room screening room etc, but if i dont tear it up the money applies to my

thats cool. my brother had a place like that in his old apt when we were kids.
no theater room though. . i would think that would be used like crazy.
maybe everyone knows it has a junk system or somthing. even if it does it would be better then watching a movie on a average 32" tube tv thats for sure.
super bowl is a big event around here. my room only seats 7 though so it gets kinda crowded so most end up watching the regular big screen in the tv room. still fun though.
