Before I could deal with the mudslinger and even gave obama passes on things said as I realize how he intended them to mean (pig lipstick comment is an example.
However this goes To far. This is Obama's latest ad
http://www.mahalo.com/McCain_Computer_Illiterate_Ad
Why can't he send and email or use a computer? The boston globe explained it in 2000, here is an exerpt from that article.
McCain gets emotional at the mention of military families needing food stamps or veterans lacking health care. The outrage comes from inside: McCain’s severe war injuries prevent him from combing his hair, typing on a keyboard, or tying his shoes. Friends marvel at McCain’s encyclopedic knowledge of sports. He’s an avid fan - Ted Williams is his hero - but he can’t raise his arm above his shoulder to throw a baseball.
After Vietnam, McCain had Ann Lawrence, a physical therapist, help him regain flexibility in his leg, which had been frozen in an extended position by a shattered knee. It was the only way he could hope to resume his career as a Navy flier, but Lawrence said the treatment, taken twice a week for six months, was excruciatingly painful.
”He endured it, he wouldn’t settle for less,” said Lawrence, who rejoiced with McCain when he passed the Navy physical. ”I have never seen such toughness and resolve.”
Very classy Obama, criticize a man's PHYSICAL inability to use a computer as a reason he should not be President. The lost that ability SERVING this country.

I dont really understand the problem you have? The ad didnt say that mccain was a half paralyzed bum war vet who was too paralyzed to comb his hair.............It just kinda said he was an idiot, the same thing that mccain is saying about obama. So i dont understand where all of the frustration is coming from? it didnt say anything about him being cripled.
Also, i highly doubt that was a real ad put out by obama, political ads are not directed that way, their alot blander, not done in that style.

My grandma does not know how to use a computer either . I guess that makes her useless in Obamatron's eyes .

I just wish people weren't so prepared to be negative instead of positive. They can handle it two ways... by making themselves look really good in publications, or by throwing the other under the bus in publication. Unfortunately, both of these idiots are choosing the latter. That's why I liked huckabee... he never spent a dime on a negative ad.

It is a valid ad. Was aired on national TV.
Here is the news story about it praising Obama as usual
http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory?id=5785969
My problem with it is it implies he can't use a computer because he is dumb, he can't use a computer because he was so badly tortured he can't move his arms properly anymore and can't type on a keyboard because of the injuries sustained from being a POW. The rest I don't care about, but the computer comment is a low blow.
Further more if being computer inadequate means you aren't qualified to handle internet security, then never serving in the military, never flying a plane, and never shooting a gun at an enemy means you aren't qualified to handle our national defense from a military aspect. THAT is my problem.

but the ad never said he couldnt use a computer because he was cripled, so that frustation makes no sense. Its just saying that hes an old geezer who doesnt know how to use a computer in a technology run america(which he is)
and barry obama is a hip, young black guy who knows how to do everything from send e-mail , to look up ----.
I think implying they were mocking his service and his disability is digging WAY too deep

I don't think they were mocking his service or disability, however would you run an ad about a paraplegic saying they didn't even know how to send an email or use a computer? See my p[roblem is they took something he said and turned it into an ad without wondering why a long time U.S. senator can't do these things. I U.S. senator that it is public knowledge has physical disabilities. They are using his disability against him to imply he is stupid...That is my problem. they didn't belittle his disability, they belittled his intelligence which is due to his disability.

he cant raise his arms up very high, but typing on a computer doesnt require raising your arms high, they are resting on a keyboard, and your fingers are moving. So i dont think this was any kind of an attack.
Also, steven hawkins is MUCH more disabled then mccain, and he manages to use a comp. The ad was saying he didnt know how to use a computer, not that he couldnt. the old computer, record player were in the ad to make people see how old he was, not to see that he was disabled. Thats what they were implying about him not knowing how to use a computer, because most old people cant.

Tell ya what darth, if that is true Obama is done. The ad call McCain out of touch and lists the fact he can't use a computer or send an e-mail as evidence. If McCain really can't type due to his war injuries this Obama ad is a demonstration of political incompetence beyond anything I can imagine. I mean no relatively competent campaign professional would open this door if they had these facts.
Have a link to the story about McCains disability by chance?

Please. You're relying on a video on YouTube?

Have you ever heard of video editing? The people who put stuff on YouTube are experts at modifying videos to make them look realistic. I especially like the final clip of how Obama approved the message. Yeaaa, there's no place that clip couldn't get grabbed for editing.
Show me where this has run on any national TV station or cable network.

You can't read the link I provided to ABC news with story about this ad? Guess not.....It is real and unedited, every video clip and story I read on it addresses the claim.
Here is your proof again.

Now how do you spin it?

Ok, not to impugn McCain in any way, or any limitations he has due to physical disabilities, but lets face it, people who are parlayed from the neck down use computers, email, web-pages, and even get degrees using computers. Yes, I know, because I have seen it, worked them, etc.
McCain's biggest obstacle is that he is "as old as dirt" (his words) and I also think he is very much "set in his ways". It's ok to be a senior citizen, but if you want to be president, you need to get up to speed with the modern age, and be able (yourself) to understand it, and use it to full advantage.
If you can't do it, then you can bet your opponent will be happy to point it out. It's legitimate in my book, when a potential president can't figure out a computer, for your opponent to point it out.....This is the 21st Century and you can be assured that the rest of the world, including our worst enemies, know how to use a computer. McCain needs to de-emphasize his age and his disability. Those things should not be touted as impediments, or excuses. If you can't do something, then learn how. Unless you can't learn it? And, if that's the case, then he shouldn't be president.
There is PLENTY of mudslinging going on by both sides, and if people can't see that, then they are out of touch. Politics in the USA is so polarized that the real issues get lost in the political game. At some point the citizens are going to say no more of it (hopefully) and use the power of their votes to bring the point home.

There are many, many people out there that manage to use computers just fine without the use of a keyboard or mouse. People with disabilities have tons of options for alternative input methods. McCain not being able to type like the rest of us is no excuse. He is an old man and men of his generation generally dont use computers. This is not an attack on his war prisoner status by Obama. Rather it is a sign that McCain is an old school guy that doesnt use modern technology, which in my opinion is a bad move if he wants to court the younger vote.

There is a huge difference between someone who communicates with a computer because they have to and someone who can speak and write. I am not sure why McCain can't use a keyboard or tie a shoe lace. At the time PC's became a home appliance McCain was a senator and I imagine has a lot better uses for his time than to use a stylus to pick out letters on a keyboard.
In either case I can't wait until the response to the Obama ad comes out. I imagine it will be properly timed.
From the article
"McCain gets emotional at the mention of military families needing food stamps or veterans lacking health care. The outrage comes from inside: McCain's severe war injuries prevent him from combing his hair, typing on a keyboard, or tying his shoes. Friends marvel at McCain's encyclopedic knowledge of sports. If McCain can use an ink pen, and he says he can, then he can use a computer. The truth is, he doesn't know how, and doesn't want to know how. I want a president who is modern and capable of being at ease with technology. Yes, I want a president that has many other attributes and know-how as well...not sure if either of the choices can fill those shoes, though.
The bottom line. How are people going to get excited about McCain when McCain's own base have problems with him, and didn't want him as the nominee????? Can Sarah Palin make up for McCain's shortcomings in the view of conservative Republicans? I don't think so, unless they are counting on him not living through his term as president, in which case Palin (more to Rep conservative liking) will then become president. Lets face it, S. Palin is the one carrying McCain's campaign now. If Reps are ahead now, its thanks to Palin. However, Palin is not running for president.

In my case, the answer is yes. And I know I'm not the only one.
McCain appointed a very Conservative, Christian, Pro-Life VP. That, to me, showed he listened and cares about the "base" of the Republican Party. That has been my, any many others, greatest fear.

Wow, so computer literacy is an important issue for you to pick the leader of our country? Modern huh, what else, how fast they can text? McCain won the Republican nomination far more easily than Obama won his...In other words Republicans are far more behind J Mac than Dems are behind Obama. I would hardly say Palin is "carrying" the McCain campaign, however I'm happy to have her on board.
