Landslide

It was 6 points
The Uber wealthy will just move their assets back off shore like the Kennedy clan has done for years. The only ones that will be paying higher taxes is the middle class.

for all of you that opposed/bashed the man let it go. Barack Obama is my president and he's your president. if we are to solve the many problems facing us we must do it together. if your making big bucks your gonna see a tax increase but it will be lower than it was under Reagan. he's not Robin Hood and he's not gonna take all your hard earned cash and give it to lazy poor people. it's time we took care of eachother not just ourselves and this concept is one this country was founded on. he's not an eliteist, he's not a muslim/Arab, he's not a socialist or a commy. he is Barack Obama president elect of the United States of America! he won big becuase he has BIG idea's. idea's that bring peace and prosperity to all of us. this is what this country is all about. McCain kept saying he's the fighter in this race. Barack was the real fighter, he overcame his skin color, his Arab name, the Clinton machine, and the slanderous attacks by the GOP. you have a tough and smart president... we should all be proud today.....

You are sooo delusional. The minute Obama does anything in the best interest of America Europe will hate him too.

Rylan, ever wonder why all of the less fortunate countries, that compete with us for jobs and business on the global market, wanted Obama to win? You really should consider that... You consistently quote world opinion without showing any regard for why they support him.

As for Russia, Obama has already stated he will cut our Missile Defense Shield. That right there puts us at a disadvantage with the Soviets who are once again in control of Moscow.

The statement was ready a week ago, but Moscow waited until after Obama had won the election to release the statement. They are obviosly well informed of Obama's proposed policies.

Well I am thrilled with the results from last night and I think President Elect Obama will do a superb job. Loved that it turned out to be a landslide on the electoral side and a resounding win when looking at votes cast. I will give McCain credit because it could have been much worse. He had many obstacles to fight...the fall of the markets, Bush (who will go down as one of the worst presidents of all time), Palin (who was a terrible choice and who will fall back into relative obscurity now that her 15 minutes are over) and he had to contend with an amazing ground game by Obama.
Also, as I said in another thread there will not be riots, sure some of you are disappointed but life will go on even if you didn't get a chance to shoot anyone.
Anyone notice the stark contrast between the crowd at the McCain rally and the Obama rally in the park? I don't think there was a single non white at McCain's rally and I find this to be rather telling.

Ok, I know this is probably a stupid question but we really haven't kept up with some of the things going on politically. What's going to happen with our troops?? Will I have to worry about him sending a lot of them back over or is he planning on backing off a little?? I haven't heard anything about this.

That conservatives are out of touch with an American base that is becoming more progressive. My point was that the McCain crowd is an example of who his base is...white, evangelical, under educated and has zero diversity. Based on the exist polls I saw, Obama had a lot more support from college eductated white Americans and I think this is a great thing!

Jenny, I love when you chime in cus it almost always makes me smile

My point is that ALL people support Obama and it would seem that is not the case for McCain. I haven't seen the numbers but I'd be willing to bet Obama won the Hispanic vote, asian vote, black vote, white women and the Jewish vote.

Why is the stock market still declining?
I figured it would be up today.
http://www.bloomberg.com/markets/stocks/wei.html
Because they are still trading on differing projections for the future and not intrinsic value. Most of wall street is republican, so of course they are going to have a bad future outlook, increasing their risk premium, and decreasing value in models such as discounted future cash flow. Doesn't really mean anything, just the market adjusting some more. And who knows, it probably has nothing to do with the election....

You really think McCain is a conservative?
That is out of touch.
