You need to look back at every election before you start talking out your butt. The single reason the republicans lost is the candidate tried to out liberal a liberal will talking like a conservative. The reason Kerry lost to Bush, is he tried to out hawk a hawk while saying he didn't want the troops in Iraq. The reason Bush beat Gore is Bush ran on true conservative principals (even though we didn't get them) The reason Clinton beat dole is dole tried to out democrat a democrat. the reason Clinton beat Bush SR. is Bush Sr previously ran on on conservative principals of not raising taxes and then he raised them during his previous term and clinton painted him as a democrat instead of a republican. I can go on and on but you get the picture.
The bottomline, the winner will ALWAYS be the person that does not try to run on issues from across the aisle. Obama did not do this, not one single thing was a republican value in his campaign. A republican can not out democrat a democrat and a liberal can not out conservative a conservative. History has shown this. And which ever candidate tries to do this, always loses.
You should be very afraid actually if Palin runs, because she will not try to out liberal/democrat the other side, she will run on conservative/republican policies and values....and if she does, you better hope Obama does not try to run a more conservative campaign....or he will lose.
History shows this. Look it up and look at the principals each candidate ran on in each party.

Bush beat Gore because of hanging chads in Florida. History may validate your argument, but as you stated, that's history. The American voter didn't appear to vote on party lines, or even party views this time. By what I saw in this election, the pure conservative voter is diminshing in this country. You may not want to believe it, but it became even more apparent in this election. Who knows what will persuade voters in 2012. But I guarantee if Palin even wants to hint at running, she better move from that backwoods state of hers and get more involved in national politics. She may talk a good conservative talk, but her constant 'foot in mouth' views will keep anyone from taking her seriously.

This point might be valid if we actually had a conservative candidate running from the republican party....but since the republicans did not have this, you can't defend this statement.
The republican candidate was Bob Dole all over again. Not a true conservative.
Case in point, for the past four years the New York times have loved McCain...their opinion pieces praised him, even going so far as to say "You know, there's really only one great man running for president this year, and that's McCain."
Then they voted for the other guy.
They loved McCain because him as a fellow liberal. The reason you think this country no longer has pure conservative views is because there was not a pure conservative running....don't fool yourself.

hanging chads? Every recount there was bush still won. And foot in mouth. I think biden has that title wrapped up.
Quite frankly it is very apparent. You had a guy running for office on the republican side, that is as good as a democrat on many issues, immigration, taxes, government spending. Heck he was approached at least twice during the bush term about switching sides to the democrats. Then he runs for office as a republican. We've had enough reach across the isle politics with Bush.

You need to watch the show Recount that's running on Cinemax or HBO (yea, don't tell me. A Democrat produced it). Gore won the popular vote. He lost the Electoral Vote in Florida because the idiots there couldn't differentiate how a voter punched their card. And the Republicans were running the state. Plain and simple. Biden may have slipped on a couple of comments, but at least he has a brain.

Riight, yeah, while I'm at it I'll pop in inconvenient truth, and a moore flick.

They did recount after recount, gore didn't win once. You seriously think that if they did a recount and gore won after the fact, that wouldn't have been on every front page in america. Please don't insult me.
Please, palin doesn't have a brain? Come on. Biden even while being hidden from the media could help himself but say retarted things. He didn't even know when the liberal hero FDR took office.

Doesn't it almost leave you speechless. That movie isn't even listed as a documentary by HBO but people want to cite it as proof for their fantasy that Gore won Florida

How the count came out wasn't the issue. It was defining how the ballot would be counted - "If the hole wasn't completely punched through, it was discarded. If the 'paper chad' was partially out of the hole, it was counted...." The Republican's that ran Florida at the time got to determine which ballot was valid, and which was not. They threw out or gave Bush ballots that were clearly intended for Gore. There were thousands of ballots tossed because there was only an 'indentation' - where the pen pushed the hole for Gore, but didn't go all the way through. Let's see, an indentation for Gore, nothing but a flat paper for Bush. Sounds to me the voter was voting for Gore. Nope, sorry, doesn't work that way. Where were you in 2000? It was on every newspaper around the world. Sorry, you've been insulted.
Yea, Palin just can't distinguish whether Africa is a country or a continent. Then she sits on a phone for 10 minutes talking to two Canadian comedians, when she thought she was talking to some French dignitary. Listen to that conversation and tell me she has a brain.

Here's a classic retort from Palin when asked about running in 2012 --
"Putting my life in my creator's hands -- this is what I always do," she said. "I'm like, OK, God, if there is an open door for me somewhere, this is what I always pray, I'm like, don't let me miss the open door ... And if there is an open door in '12 or four years later, and if it is something that is going to be good for my family, for my state, for my nation, an opportunity for me, then I'll plow through that door."
I'm like, you know, like going to run for President in 2012, and like I may or may not win, because you know like it's in like God's hands...

And in the mean time we have Obama trying to figure out how many homeys and marxist professors he can put in government jobs over the next 4 years. On the upside think of all that court ordered child support that will be caught up when Obus' friends start working jobs on the books

You people call yourselves historians, and you don't even remember a major event 8 years ago? What did I say that isn't factual? It was in all the papers and every national broadcast for two weeks after the election. Look it up. You seriously don't remember the 'hanging chad' debate? Guess this just validates how closed-minded the Republican zealots are. Anything that damages the credibility of your precious party are lies and deception. Anything stated against the Democratic Party is factual and true. You can't even remember a major event in our nation's history, and I have reefraff still thinking that our new president-elect is a socialist/marxist wannabe that's going to destroy his life. Hey, you don't like the guy? Move to Canada or Mexico. You've got the guy for 4 years. Deal with it. You people spout your patriotism for this country, yet you won't back the person who THE PEOPLE elected as your next president. Guess that's the difference between you and me. If McCain would've won, I'd still support him until he proved otherwise. You can't get over the fact you lost, and believe all the political trashing that went on during the campaign. McCain has even stated he's supporting the guy. Him and Obama are getting together today to discuss McCain's role in the new administration. Do this country a favor. Either support the person who was elected, or leave. It's that simple.

Wow, were was this the last 8 years, when Bush bent over backwards to try and work with dummycrats? Why didn't you're work the the republican?
You really think conservatives are going to forget the absolute vilification of Bush over the past 8 years.

Why shouldn't they. The conservatives have already stated that Bush really is no longer what you call "conservative right". So is it going to be an 'eye for an eye'? You hated our president the last 8 years, so we'll hate yours until he's out of office. Niiice. That's what is wrong with the political mentality of this country. It's always an 'us against them' attitude. Last time I read the Declaration Of Independence, it said "WE THE PEOPLE", not "WE THE REPUBLICANS AND THOSE OTHER NUTS THE DEMOCRATS".
Bush work with the Democrats for 8 years?
Give me a break. He knocked down every piece of legislature they brought to the table when the Republicans ran Congress the first 6 years. He just started trying to mend fences the last couple years after the Demos took control. It obviously was the other way around since it was the Demos that backed his useless war in Iraq.
Sorry, but the liberal Democrats weren't the only ones 'vilifying' Bush. His approval rating is below 20%. You're saying there's that many liberal Democrats?

Please your liberalness is blinding yourself. Bush did everything he could to reach across the isle. From the no child left behind to letting congress hold not one but two votes (which he did not need to have) in Iraq. To proposing social security reform. Everything he did was to reach across the isle. Until they turned on him and decided to oppose everything he supported. Heck today you have liberals starting to say stuff like maybe it isn't a good idea to close gitmo, and we need flexibility on the "domestic spying" in order to fight terrorists.
Everything liberals have done over the last 8 years was a opposite of Bush philosophy. He was called things like hitler, they wrote books, produced plays where they got to kill him, they are trying to name sewage plants after him.
I find it insulting that now that a liberal nutcase is going into the white house, we have these hate spewing liberals like you saying. We need unity, or something completely insulting like you need to support your president or get out. WHEN YOU WOULDN'T DO IT WHILE WE WERE AT WAR.

Hanging chads weren't the issue. Whether or not to change the standard for what constitutes a vote in 3 selected counties was. The Democrats went to court to have relaxed standards in 3 heavily Democrats counties so so-called pregnant chads would count as a vote. If you are too stupid to at least partially knock out the chad you don't deserve to vote anyway.
I'll support Obama 100% on any of his programs I agree with. Not holding my breath on that one.
