Obama now is considering cutting benefits for vets.

I hate him. I hate him. I hate him...MORON...I hate him. I have disliked and disagreed with presidents before, but I just detest this one and path he is leading. Probably for me...because there is nothing to respect...nothing he has done should allow for him to make such decisions. Blood pressure out of control...going to try that recycling bin thingy now. Cannot wait to start voting these thugs out.

JP raises a good point. Where was the OUTRAGE when Bush considered the same thing?

Some, at least, were writing letters to the White House. Just as I do for local and state issues. A letter goes out to my assemblypeople, representatives and senators when I get wind of something like this. I live in a highly military populated area. Things like this hit close to home. Just because we voice disgust now does not mean we didn't in the past.
Until I am president, no president will make every choice that I would. I didn't blindly follow GW, but in comparison, I would vote for him over Obama.

Hmm, well perhaps we should look at all arbitrary presidential facts that have nothing to do with the original post. There were 42 other presidents aside these two. I am sure we can get the water moving with this. This will allow you to continue talking about the past while turning a blind eye to what is going on now so you can comfortably give the
to Obama while he destroys the very fiber of what makes this country great.

I was not active on this board at that time....sorry. There were alot of things about Bush I did not like...but it is irrelevant when considering my feelings of the current admin.

Darth, Usirchchris, Socal, Ruaround... gentlemen... I challenge each of you to show me a SINGLE post from you criticizing Bush for the same thing. If you can't do it then you are a hypocrit
for coming her to bash Obama for it. My prediction is that you'll each have your excuses but not a single one of you will show me the post.

And the comments, "I hate him", "He's a moron", "His pockets are gettin deeper..." How old are you guys???

Old enough to see a very bad trend of the nationalization of the banks, the automotive industry, healthcare, insurance, the American workforce, etc., etc., etc.
I'll get busy looking through my old posts and word documents. Good thing I have the day off, eh Crimz?

Please post the link to the thread where this issue was brought to the attention of the community under President Bush's administration.

I have not created any political threads, and I must have missed all the Bush bashing threads to join in on. I did not agree at all with Bush and all the other "civilians" at the time trying to run the Iraq war, when countless generals and war heroes were telling them not to do it, or how to better do it. I personally was unaware bush tried to cut veteran money...I knew they were shutting down bases... I would not have agreed with that or him either. I would not have known about this article if someone had not posted it. I am 30...don't try to pull the high and mighty card D-town "too much booty in the pants". I was posting my reaction to the article...not preparing a thesis for my docterate.

I have an active duty USAF MAster Sargent as a brother. His base in SC has recieved the orders of how the troops will react if and WHEN the Democratic Messiah comes to town. He was nto happy with the orders however the punishment for not following them was a Court-martial followed by a Bad Conduct Discharge. He has 6 more Years to go before he is due to retire and he is like I hope I can bite my tounge for the next 4 years if not I am dead.

1. It isn't the same thing. The link provided talked about BUDGET cuts. (This means scaling back on employees, not ordering new equipment, etc...) . The Obama consideration is over making the troops PAY FOR THEIR OWN HEALTHCARE! See the difference.
2, From the linked article....
"The budget for hospital and medical care for veterans is funded for the current year at $35.6 billion, and would rise to $39.6 billion in 2008 under Bush's budget. That's about 9 percent. But the budget faces a cut to $38.8 billion in 2009 and would hover around that level through 2012."
So Bush increased the budget of the VA by 4 billion and then the next year decreases that budget by 1 billion.....This still equals a 3 billion dollar increase.....So technically he increased the Budget from it's previous standpoint regardless if he cut it by a little later. And again, the Budget cut does not affect the TRoops and force them to PAY FOR DEFENDING US!.
So I ask you guys, how do these two things even remotely relate.,.....
Nice try though....

In this first link from Darth "Obama administration is considering a controversial plan to make veterans pay for treatment of service-related injuries with private insurance."
In the second link from JP "The Bush administration's budget assumes cuts to funding for veterans' health care two years from now - even as badly wounded troops returning from Iraq could overwhelm the system.
"
What is the argument here? How can you argue that these two plans are even remotely similar. I was not a GB supporter for the record but what Obama is doing to this country is scary. Even some of his fellow Dems are shaking their heads at his abuse of power. There is an overwhelming amount of evidence to prove that what is currently going on is taking our country down. If for some reason we survive this mess them good for us. I do not have much hope for our well being at this time. Check out this link if you care on how our own troops fell about GB and Obama.

Ok and what does this have to do with anything?
