If you equate racial bias, and the negative history of America as the ideal of what America is than yes... My opinion of it is not anti-American, but more anti-oppression. We have issues that haven overlooked... Wright has the right to say what he wants.... Obama has addressed it... I believe him. He appears to be the person he says he is. We all want a better America.. you and I.. Obama... and even Wright. Wright's views may be unpopular... but he wants the same things as everyone else... The freedom and access as every other American to education, food, jobs, justice, homeownership...etc.
Now you are defending Wright? This shows so much.
Ok, two points. Yes Obama denounced him. Finally. However Wright said nothing different now than was what was said then and pointed out. So what changed his mind. Even if he did change his mind. This is a guy that has been close to Obama for years. If Obama didn't know, then it shows his inability to judge character and truly see people for who or what they are. This makes him unfit to be the leader of this country. How can I trust Obama to understand my wants, needs, desires and everything else if he didn't even know what a guy he knew 20 years wanted. This tells me he can't read or understand people well and when dealing with foreign leaders this is a huge must.
Second and a little off the subject but not much. I believe Wright doesn't want Obama to win. If Obama wins and becomes president the argument that the U.S. is a racism filled country will not hold water anymore. Thus the pastor and a lot of pro-black organizations that raise money off this precedent will be out a lot of money.
As it sits now we had Condi Rice and Collin Powell be called "the token black face" in the white house and cabinet and so certain organizations could still pull the race card. However if Obama is elected you will see a lot change and groups like the Black Panthers and Wright will not be able to generate the same amount of money based off 200 year old wounds.
There is a small side of me that would like to see Obama win, just so this "wound" can be closed and not brought back around. The groups such as Black Panthers will have nothing to go on after this. Race will be a non issue.......This is the ONLY good I see out of an Obama presidency as it will show the world and ourselves regardless of race, creed, or ---, any can make it in this country.
