Look my sister got preggers when she was 16. Its not the end of the world. Its the start of a new one. In a few months the shock will fade and the excitment of a grand child will take over. As long as the kids have willing parents then the transition is easier on everybody. Ignorant parents who disown their kids and make them quit school to get jobs destroy two lives not just one. My sister did quit school but did home schooling and graduated a year late. maybe that is an option. She now takes courses on line and at the local CC.
Good luck. My nephew is now 4 and the hard times have gone by in a blink of an eye.

Just because your friend is that stupid doesn't mean all 16 year old's will be as stupid as your friend and do the same. Just sayin...

So I guess if this person was older it would make them more responsible

I don't have much to say here other than you're in for a huge change. can't offer much wisdom, seeing as I'm your daughters age, however I have watched two of my friends go through this, one gave up the baby and the other kept it. It's a shock now, but seeing as how my friend who kept the child's family adjusted, it seems like it was always meant to be. God has a plan for everyone, and I wish your family a whole lotta luck and understandings.
P.S. That boy better come over to rub her sore feet!

Guys, you should take this somewhere else. =( Not all teenagers do drugs, and no one said that her daughter was. I think this is a little inappropriate in a thread where someone was looking for reassurence and emotional help.

My older sister got prego at 16 also, my family all but dis owned her
the only person she had was me, her 13 year old brother
do your self and her a favor, let het know you love her and support her
it took a LOT and i mean A LOT of courage to come and tell you
she's 100 times more scared than you are pissed
on another note......
I'm pretty good at sharpening a knife %%

I was so hard on my daughter when she got pregnant..She was 18 but still at home. I got over my wrath, it took about 6 months. When the baby came I was blessed with my granddaughter, words can't describe how much I loved that little girl from the moment I saw her. They may not be always planned, but grandchildren are always
a blessing.
The creep was not with her when she gave birth, I was. On top of it all...he was MY
age!
She married him a year later, they have 5 children now, and are very happy. I was a wreak, but it all worked out I guess.
My daughter told me after the baby was born one night, that she was so depressed, and scared and I was so mad at her that she had seriously contemplated suicide. That sent a chill down my spine. I still choke up thinking about it.
So be gentle. This is devastating for the whole family. If she keeps her baby (talking adoption not abortion) she is going to need you more now than ever, and baby too.
Keep us posted and our prayers are with you.

(thats a harsh word, underlaw the fetus must be , i think, 4 weeks old until its considered a person.)
I dont condone abortion but if i found out my sibling was pregnant and it could potentially harm her then i would. Having a kid at 16 is alot of stress plus the new strains of viruses and bacteria in hospitals.

Of course the kid will keep it, they thinks it basically a new doll and not a living breathing human being that is affected by every action you do. My friend, age 16, was the same way now but now her baby is at the adoption agency because she was caught hitting the baby because it would not "shutup". If not abortion than adoption, 16 is not an age of responsibility.
I say make sure the girl is entirely healthy and 100% capable of giving birth than find a couple whom will adopt it. Again my opinion.
wow, you kinda like, contradicted yourself.

IMO the ONLY time abortion should be discussed is in the cases of ---- or death to the mother will result during child birth. Obviously adoption being a very hard and great move on the childs behalf is not always an option for the families involved. With that being said and your daughter wanting to keep it all I can say is hold her accountable to that child and it's needs, no more running around like kids do, time to grow up. I feel for you jenny, my duaghter is 16 as well and I dont think I could handle that type of news. Good luck.
....Sorry cant decide.

I'm 16 and don't do drugs and NEVER will. So, a drug addict has more common sense than me? LOL
