These are the problems I am speaking of jlem.
125inTX sorry to hear that, many more people are going to be experiencing that sooner than they think.

I don't know what it is, but it is a pretty good time to release a video that would make Americans support the war.

It is societies fault for the senerio you explained.

While you are right, society is at fault, as well as poor education, the government certainly is not in any hurry to fix the problem.

Tony, so you have seen the video? What do you think?

I am undecided, but you have to admit it is a pretty good time to make American people feel the war is necessary. It could be real or fake, but as said before you would think the guy would pass out, die of a heart attack, etc. much earlier than he did.

Things happen and it will not always work out perfect, people have bad times and good times. The economy is recovering and is actually getting better. I don't like the jobs going overseas ( ever called dell Custumer support ) but will americans either pay twicw as much for stuff or work for half the pay. If jobs had to stay in America their would be such inflation and a horrible recession. It's all about the mighty dollar anyways and who will work for it and the average american won't. I just find it hard to swallow that people can't get off their feet in America after some of the dumb rocks that I see that have joined the military and are actualy making it.
Wow I guess this thread has turned a corner.

war is war, there has always been abuse from any country in any war period. there isnt anything nice, cival, or humane about war. war is killing, blowing stuff up and taking the prize at the end. there is no such thing as a perfect goverment, we are human beings, we are greedy. But this is the best Goverment in the world, and it even will let you if you dont like it move and choose a new goverment. the middle east knows nothing but fighting, they been doing it for hundreds of years non stop. thats all those people do, they wont stop after we pull out of there. but i do think we should stop losing our troops over there, pull them out and just bomb them everyday. I think things will change if we dont re elect Bush, im not voting for him.

I will never understand peace-nik thinking and how hippy protesters can possibly think the way they do. The media is a massive evil and yes sometimes the government HAS TO suppress the truth to protect the US and its' interest. The people do not need to know every little detail especially if those details are a danger to troops on the front line. If it was to be released then it should have been released after all of this is done and over. CID and IG are independant of any military chain of command except for their own, they would have handled the situation quietly and without public attention the way it should have been handled.
As to the beheading I am sorry but it does show what brutal and evil people we are dealing with and more than before I want to see them wiped out. This is not a battle of leadership, this is a culture clash in its most gruesome form. Here we have a modern up to date culture with mostly good morales and high standing fighting with a culture that stopped evolving and is straight out of the middle-ages who believes in an evil bloody god which rewards murder. This is not the same Allah that more modern worshipers believe in. It is definately going to take some time to get things in order you cant catch up a thousand years at the click of a button. Life is not high speed internet.
As to Vietnam, it was a great military victory statistically. I have seen figures which have us killing several million enemy troops to what 52,000 of ours? Politically we lost because mainly the media continued to harp on the the bad things and our presidential leadership was too weak to ignore the public opinion of ignorant hippies and get done what needed to be done. Unfortunately our hands were tied and we could not hit the important military targets in North Vietnam which supplied and trained the NVA and Viet Cong. But we still whipped their A$$. anywho I am done with this.

One thing I have to add... do you really think the "peace loving" hippy movement wanted peace? How long did it take for the peace sign to turn into the "hail satan" rock and roll sign? What did the Beatles say about starting a revolution.... and you can count them out when it comes to violence... than they whisper IN! Who do you think Sergent Pepper is! Why does the song "Halleuajah"(sp?) quickly turn into Hail Krishna... and no one notices... Why are so many of the "peace loving" hippy songs drenched with verses from satanic writings! Just as it was outlined a century ago, when the writers wrote how they'd trick the people into etcheing the verses into their hearts without realizing what they meant. The drug guro Timothy Leary who helped introduce the drug revolution to the hippy revolution has some incredibly scary, and prophetic messages on where the hippy movement ultimatly is destined to go! Its nothing but getting people to deny Christ, pretend he doesn't exist, accept ancient teachings of Lucifer under the disguise of "new age" thinking and humanism. Don't think atheism isn't a religion, even the supreme court declared it was in 1961. Ironic, we've embraced it as the religion of state while crying out how the constitution forbids the establishment of religion.
Kind of ironic how Kurt Cobain sings about "you listen to our music but don't know what it means"(or something like that)... especially since alot of the chorus's in his music reiterates ancient demonic prayers, oh... nice quote by him "I get drunk and worship satan".
Harlequin, its good you don't understand that "peaceful" thinking... most of the major players in it are on record stating that their goal is violence unprecedented.... whats peaceful about that?
I'd go on, but "people" either see it or they don't...
Oh, I understand and believe its ludicrous that CNN reports troop movements and even GASP... discusses where vulnerable sites and strategic lightly defended potential targets are!!! That IS insanity and putting our troops in harm. A TOTAL news blockout, remove all reporters from the area, would be the only way of potentially controlling the media... as has been done in other wars. As we CAN'T control the foreign and independent news outlets with treason charges... than again, some truth always gets out, as an example... the "Baghdad Blogger".

Nuke them. Just don't stop there, let's hit the others as well. Areas of religious conflict, and areas of continually conflict. Take care of all the problems at once. We can stay in nuclear shelters for a period of twelve years and all will be fine.

This is from time magazine... http://www.time.com/time/covers/1101040517/story.html
But the horror stories keep coming. An Army investigation of conditions at Abu Ghraib concluded that prison guards had carried out "numerous incidents of sadistic, blatant and wanton abuse" for months. The Army is investigating reports of crimes committed at other detention facilities in Iraq. Testifying before the Senate last Friday, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld said the Pentagon has obtained more photos and video footage that show U.S. troops engaged in even worse behavior. "We're not just talking about giving people a humiliating experience," Senator Lindsey Graham said. "We're talking about ---- and murder and some very serious charges."
IMO Once you cover that kind of stuff up you are no longer a free society, you are officially the bad guy...I don't care if you call me a peace nick, hippy or whatever...it's all garbage, you have the far right, and the far left in this country, and the only losers are the majority of people who are like myself..THE MIDDLE.

since water stops alot of radiation we would probably find the oceans came out better than the surface. There would be damage but much of it would be recovered by the time it was safe for any humans to come out of the shelters. Hey maybe under water shelters..... That way we could be living in human tanks so the fish can watch us.... I wonder what the minimum tank size for us is.

I agree that americans should know what we did. 99.9% of americans who have seen the abuse are discusted as I am, but we will loose no sleep over it and let it be because we are safe in our beds living a life 100 times better than anyone else. The abuse story is the big thing now but will dissapear into oblivion with the next big news story. Lets just pray that are troops are safe and pray for their safe return because them and not us are feeling the brunt of the prison abuse backlash.
