It could be due to stress. How big are the tangs? I haven't had an ich outbreak since my old freshwater tank so I'm not sure there. I used to use a medicine called Maracyn which worked well but was expensive. You should probably have a cleaner shrimp too, they eat parasites off of the fish.

I really don't know what to tell you. People on this forum have tried to help you numerous time, but you just end up with one mess after another. I know it was your best intention to not have two tangs in a tank your size. But your LFS is messed up by giving you another tang!!! Best to remove it and take it back to the LFS and hoping the ich hasn't spread out yet! Watch carefully for any indication of ich. I believe someone have told you that you NEED to QT any new fish!!!!

Please don't add anymore to your tank until your tank stablize and you know what your doing!!!!!!!!! I hope I don't have to say this again... I already said it like 3-4 times in your other postings...

The main reason your fish are getting ick is because you have them in substandard housing and a poor environment.
You shouldnt have one Tang in that tank, let alone 2...especially a Clown Tang, which is probably the most aggressive of the species.
I havent seen any of your other posts, but just from reading this one, I know you need to SLOW DOWN. You need to be researching, stop the impulsive buys/trade ins and make sure you have a proper tank setup and know which fish NOT to add to your tank.

Come on, who wants to do water changes when adding fish to a bad environment is so much more fun......

You all are being rude. Everyone has been in the impulse buy mood at one time or another. It takes awhile to be able to control leaving the LFS w/out a purchase. This is addicting

No, i was being serious. In another post he was asking about water quality and said he wasn't going to be able to get to the store for a month.

As an outside observer of Shista's posts and you/everyone's responses, you are right 1journeyman.
Addiction= hurt to others and yourself

Its hard to do, but if you can't leave the fish store without something, get some fish food, new book, or supplements.

get the tang out of there ASAP and return it to the store. when they give you store credit, YOU CAN LEAVE the store and COME BACK LATER WITHOUT BUYING ANYTHING NOW. then watch your fish to see if they get ick. if they do its all over your main tank and if you have any LR / LS, inverts etc you cant perform hyposalinization and cant add copper, so then your only choice is to A) hope it goes away by itself, not likely , but possible. or B) medicate your main tank with with any addittive you have, and prepare to do water change about 50% after medication. i have used kick ich before cause i have been in a similar situation with the ick in the main tank, and it does save lives, especially if treated early, and correctly. only those fish with the most severe cases wont survive. but know that any medication will add further stress to the inhabitants. at this point you should be realizing that your life would have been a whole lot easier if you had a hospital tank already set up and cycled and running for just the situation you are experiencing. it would also have come in handy for quaranting any new fish for 1 month before adding to main display. i suggest start with a 10- 15 g. its easy and cheap to set up.

Any more scolding I could do has been done many times over in many different threads so...
Are you SURE it's a clown tang and not a striped damsel??? It's hard to believe a LFS would make that big a mistake! The clown tang is worlds more expensive than a damsel. Can you post a picture of it?
