Oceanside I have 33 friends that the only place I can see them anymore is in the CEMETARY because of 9/11 and 22 of them their caskets all they had in them was GRAVEL and maybe a bone fragment. I also so far have lost 15 friends in Iraq and Afghanistan and my brother is getting ready for his 2nd tour in Iraq with the USAF with his Fighter wing leaving behind his wife and 4 kids. Of those 15 that dies over there ALL of them were killed via IEDs from people that were from outside of IRAQ. Comparing Bill Ayers is to Osama Bin Laden is perfectly CORRECT since they both carried out BOMBINGS here on US SOIL and BOTH OF THEM ATTACKED THE PENTAGON. Regardless of how you spin it they are BOTH TERRORISTS one of whom just happens to be a close friend of the President.

You are not the only one with loved ones in the ground because of terrorists, Bill Ayers didn't kill anyone I know. Osama Bin Laden did, and a hell of alot more people are dead because of him rather than the speculation around Ayers. My husband is also an OEF/OIF vet, my uncle Vietnam and the Gulf. My brother is in the Marines. My uncle and cousin the Navy. I take it very seriously. My husband will never be the same because of the war on terror.

WHat name did Obama use use all through college? How many deaths was the organization Mr. Ayers help found responsible for?
Just because Bin Laden was more successful doesn't diminish the wrongs committed by other terrorists like Ayers.

"speculation" about Ayers.... you make me laugh. He admitted to his role in the bombings, then went on to say he wished they'd doen more. His satement came on on 9/11/2001 no less.

I was not refering to his roles in the bombings... Additionally from what I was able to find, the reporter made the statement about him wishing he had done more bombings not Ayers himself. Also it was the NYT who CHOSE to run that on Sept. 11th. The interview had been done long before that. Obviously they were unaware of what was going to happen that day. Again I am not condoning, just don't like when people have incorrect information, for the better or worse. Missinformation is one of the reasons this country is so messed up.

I would like to preface this by saying I AM IN NO WAY CONDONING WHAT AYERS HAS DONE.... I merely went on a fact finding mission of my own and had some thought provoking ideas in my head... This is a discussion point. Not necessarily what I believe. If you want to DISCUSS do, but don't reply to just bashing posts. Discussion is the mother of invention. So looking through the google I could not find ONE instance of civilian casualties in the Ayers grounp the Weather Underground. In fact the 3 deaths were members of his own group. According to what i have seen so far, I have by far not done enough research to say anything of standing however. The bombings on federal buildings were designed to not kill people.
So then I got to thinking....Has anyone else noticed that there is a SHORTAGE of ammo lately??? Riffle amo has gone from about 20 to 60 dollars a box in the last 3 years. I shoot mostly when I am in Texas and don't really keep much in California where I live, so my perspective is from the DFW area and OK city. Californias gun laws suck, and ammo is outrageous. But I have noticed that here in Texas people seem to be stockpiling it. So say that the conservatives revolted on the democrats as I have seen suggestions of here and there. Would the revolt not be on the same page at that point as what Ayers was doing. I got to thinking...Ayers group was mostly protesting the Vietnam war, where in the North Vietnamese were slaughtering the South Vietnamese. (thank you for bringing Pho to America. I love it on a cold day) So if the conservatives began retaliating against the democrats in the same fashion would that not be the same thing???

Deaths are still DEATHS and BOMBINGS ARE STILL BOMBINGS. Terror attacks are still TERRIOISTIC in there impact. Why did ammo price go up SIMPLE called OBAMA won and will require ammo that can be traced to who bought it real soon. That was his pet idea as a State Senator in IL and he would love to take it Nationwide were every Slug and Cartiage has a specific serial number on it that can be traced to WHO bought it. Right now there is no such requirement on that. Think about it he rams that through and someone steals your handgun and kills someone with those rounds in it that person gets off because the ammo SAYS YOU DID IT. Obama does not give a crap about the lower or middle class what he wants is a Socialist socieity were he is President for life like Chavez just got in Venezula however the only way that can happen here in the USA is to disarm the citizens. That is Obama and the Democrats ultimate goal.

Do you know a mother and her baby walked out of said restroom about four minutes before the bomb went off?? Oh here is a great idea, put the bomb in the restroom we don't wanna hurt anybody!! Your argument is so skewed it is almost laughable, but this is a serious subject. Ammo has been selling, just like guns, like hotcakes at I-Hop since we got a new president. This sale even makes the Y2K and after 9-11 sales look like K-Mart blue light specials.

Ammo prices starting going up well before Obama even announced he was running. They actually started climbing while Bush was President and the Republicans were in the majority. A socialist agenda in itself is fundamentally FOR the lower and middle classes. Really? saying that Obama wants to be President for life like Chavez makes you sound very ignorant. I am all for discussion but spouting crap like that is just ridiculous. Although I fully believe that Obama WANTS more gun control...I don't think he will actually go out and take a whole lot of action. That would dig its own grave in this country.

I did the research on my own and from what I read about the weather underground....The bombings were not set up to intentionally hurt anyone. What they did is wrong as hell. It is a VERY serious subject. I didn't say that they didn't endanger anyones lives. The intent of the group however was to make a statement, not to kill people. I think that the bombings were totoally reckless and they were not considering the cost of human lives that they could have impacted. Like I said I did the research and I am stating what I have discovered. I never said what they did was ok. I am not making any argument, if you would pay attention.

Hold the phone on that. Ok, the bomb that prematurely exploded killing 3 members was going to be placed in a dance hall. A place where people congregate an meet. Lots of people. There was enough explosive in that bomb to take down the hall. The Hall incidentally was to hold a dance for military personnel at the time as well. So just because they failed with placing the bomb does not mean they did not intend to kill innocent people.
If I point a gun at your child and pull the trigger, having the bullet graze by the child within 1 foot of them, would you defend me saying I didn't intend to kill the child and I was just making a statement? This is basically what you are doing. by looking the other way and diminishing the severity of the actions taken by this group. This group planted and detonanted bombs, just because they failed to kill people with them in no way diminshes the severity of their actions.
Oh and incidentally, members of the weather underground were responsible for the deaths of a Brinks guard, 2 Nyack Police men, during a robbery, also responsible for the deaths of 6 civilians during a riot they started.

Sickboy I live in the only state that REQUIRES a Firearms Owner ID Card just to even Have a gun in the HOUSE. Obama while he was a State Senator here in IL wanted to raise the tax on Both Ammo and weapons 500% and allow the Families of Shootings to go after the Ammo and Gun Manufacters for get this PRODUCING A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT. He also is a huge fan of Mayor Daley and his plan to BAN ALL GUNS OF ANY KIND IN AND AROUND CHICAGO AND COOK COUNTY. Obama says he supports the 2nd amendment however his Voting Record IS 100% clearly against it hear in IL.

Well, I was laughing b/c that outrageous conspiracy theory was just as crazy as someone saying that Cheney was the mastermind behind 9/11.

Now, on your firearms permits.......you still have the right to bear arms correct?? It doesn't say you have the right to bear arms without any regulation....i.e., a permit system to keep criminals from legally obtaining guns. I like my guns, and I have a handgun permit and will be getting a concealed carry permit soon. I have no problem with permits. It takes me a couple hours to renew my permits, just checking the criminal background, it comes up clear, and it is renewed. I also think that it is beneficial from keeping many crimes down, but of course people can still get guns illegally, but that doesn't mean permits don't prevent some crimes.
Plus, I hate to break it to ya, but those democrats that you pointed out, still need to be re-elected. I'm sure Pelosi and some of the other liberal democrats would vote for it, but I guarantee you that the more conservative democrats like Ben Nelson (D- Neb) would never vote for taking away gun rights. It would be political suicide in a gun loving state. I'm sure there are many democrats that are in the same situation.

Sickboy at one time when I was an OTR driver I could carry any thing the US Goverment shipped via a truck up to and including the paper that money is printed on NUCLEAR WEAPONS and the triggers which are shipped seperatly and anything else they needed. However because my brother who DID NOT LIVE WITH ME WAS LIVING IN ARKANSAS at the time had a Misdemener conviction for battery when he was 16 I could not get a FOID card. Yet the goverment would let me haul a warhead that would take out Washington which is more Screwed up.
