LOL id love to do that, is there a shark i can put in there with all of those nice peaceful community fish? since its the gf's brother who's gonna build the tank for us LOL free even, she's getting to pick the fish in there really LOL but, if i can manage it, im gonna get a shark an some rays if i can LOL
and when we do this, we're gonna check the floor first, and make sure the concrete is at 3ft thick, i know that the pads we used to park our big rigs on, weighing out at 105k gross lbs were only 2 ft thick, so, im guessin 3ft thick will be enough for the weight
With sharks and rays, you can't keep them with overly aggressive fish. They will eat small fish too. But with a tank that size you probably wouldn't have to worry too much.
Personally, I'd simply install an above ground pool with some acrylic panes for viewing. Just out of curiosity, have you though about what type of dehumidifier system you will use so the evaporation doesn't destroy your house? You should also realize that you will be spending about $2K on salt alone to get it started. Then you are talking about $10K or so on liverock. Lighting system will be several thousand also. Not to be critical but I hope you realize that the tank itself is the easiest, and cheapest part of such a system. With a free tank, you should still plan on spending about $25K without any livestock. Good luck.
