Our country's monitary system is in its last gasps.

No comment about how many pounds of silver but in mid 2003 I liquidated all of my stock, everything, and bought US Silver Eagles at slightly over spot which was about $4.50 an ounce at the time.
I'm seriously thinking of liquidating silver.
Maybe I could trade some of it for ReefForBrain's Chain Cent

I'm going to invest my $$ in booze. When the poo hits the fan, what person isn't going to want some scotch?

You got in right. Trouble with buying gold or silver is you got to get in early. I wouldn't touch the stuff now. Once you start seeing TV commercials pushing the stuff it's too late. My brother and a couple friends of his got slammed in the early 80's buying the South African gold coins. Got in late and stayed too long waiting for them to go back up.

The tough decision is not whether to take a gun, but which gun to take.
Gold...check
Silver....check
Ammo...check
Armored car...check
canned goods....check
water....check

Well if things don't change direction pretty soon I think we are going to see a revolution in this country but it wont be a bunch of know nothing kids complaining about full price tuition.

So, if I understand the story correctly, turkey prices are up because of a shortage in supply, which is fine with the market-force believers, and isn't actually inflationary, just supply-demand driven. Early in the article it does point out that the 1.4% rise in food prices is below the norm for this time of year. So, how does this article support the statement that "Inflation is starting already".

The fed's monitary policy tells me they're more scared about deflation than inflation.

With the amount of food we import the fed policy will inflate prices but I think Turkey is still for the most part a domestic product so I don't see that as a good berometer. Fish would be better. Most of ours comes from the far east.
