Pellets or Flakes?

I would say neither... frozen foods are going to be most people's top choice.
I use a combination and mix it up with frozen, flake and pellet depending on time (12 hour shifts I don't always feel like taking some out of the freezer and get lazy).
Dried foods can add phosphates in your tank which can build up over time, especially if you over feed.

Depending on the fish but I feed mine brine and mysis for a variety -- I spike my brine with garlic and my mysis with selcom (vitamins). I don't spike the dry stuff as that's my lazy food.

Yeah variety is good like jackri stated. Just one con for flake is it tends to float and the fish have to go to the surface. My fish tend to splash alot at the surface soaking my lights and me. If you are just keeping clowns and another small fish I wouldn't worry about this too much however.

The biggest problem with flake is the amount of nutrition that simply dissolves in the water before the fish can eat it.
Frozen or homemade is going to be the best IMO.

my clowns are eating pellets/brine every other day. I will be getting mysis next time.
Clowns aren't very picky. They love food.

I use both flakes and pellets a few times a week as a side dish, or a snack. For variety. If you get dry just be sure to get good stuff that labels no phosphates or ash....and only give a pinch

I feed with both RODs and pellets...I seem to have less problems rotating this way. My fish devour the pellets right away since I only put in a couple at a time, but they are not as quick with the frozen food.
