Police brutality or citizen stupidity?

Stupidity on both parts in my opinion. How hard is it to restrain that woman? And everyone knows you don't fight/assault an officer. Just because it is a woman The officer should be gentler if she is fighting back?
How many cops episodes show officers slamming a guy to the ground, pushing facing into the concrete and driving their knee into their back while arresting them?

I agree with Darth. I really didn't think he should have punched her but she should have calmed her butt down. I would have tased her since that seems to be more acceptable.

OMG...that was a freakin total joke....what about the lady in pink that he punched...lol....
this could have ended up a lot worse....IMO he handled that badly.....not saying the person wasn't a jerk, BUT he is the law enforcement officer

I am not going to blame the cop. Looking at the video it might seem like an over reaction but put yourself in his shoes in the heat of battle. He has to do what he can to get her off him. I think if you asked anyone who's been tased they would gladly take a punch rather than be zapped again.
I just don't understand how people have come to think it's OK to get in a cop's face when he's doing his job. Honestly once you do that I think you deserve whatever you get, including a hot lead injection.

Not necessarily blaming the cop..I would have knocked her out..LOL....BUT....he should have called for back-up....what if that crowd jumped on him.....
I'm just saying it could have turned out really bad

I have to say both too, having been issued a jaywalking ticket I can tell you my attitude about that is bad cop, no donut and although I would not have shoved the cop I would have been running my mouth the whole time. Seattle is a big city with lots of gang and other related violence for the police to worry about instead of jaywalking tickets.

Spoken like a true moron. These ghetto low life idiots walk in front of traffic taking their sweet ass time. They stroll along slow as possible and people slam on their brakes to stop. They make a scene and laugh about it. I see it happen all the time. This cop probably saw it stopped them for breaking the law then their true colors came out. Its a law it was broken. Dont justify it. One white cop 15 black people probably in a part of town where black people are the majority. Every city has its areas. Im only speaking the truth. Where the video starts the girl is screaming and fighting the cop off. Then another girl gets involved. What happens if it were two guys? The force is okay then? Handicap people, hell little kids know you dont touch a cop. Its thats simple. Dont do it. Yelling at one is just as retarded.

LOL. Thanks for calling me a moron though, always the best way to get your point across and not worth a response.

What if the lady had decided to go for his gun?
I cant see the Video but thats mostly why cops dont put up with being touched/messed with I would think.
Plus I think they get twitchy when crowds gather during a fight/scuffle.

Yep, been plenty of cops have their weapons taken while they were trying to control a suspect.
As far as the crossing crap I've seen that many MANY times. Frog walking across a busy street in traffic was actually the initiation for a local gang in the neighborhood.

What if backup is 5 minutes away? What if you are by yourself? You take positive control of the situation.
You Never EVER assault an Officer of the Law. Taze them punch them whatever you need to do to maintain control. The ONLY thing I would fault this officer for would be shooting the perp.
I'm 100% behind the officer here. Then again my dad put his life on the line for 30 years as a Trooper, Deputy and local police officer.
The Golden Rule was broken then someoen whines when they get what they deserve.

Are you serious? Are you serious? Yeah, he was serious a-hole! If it was a guy he wouldn't have waltzed so long, it would've been teeth meeting the street!

Eh...little excessive, IMHO. Throwing a punch, that quick, in the situation...he could've handled it differently. Pushed her away, restrained her better...he was alot bigger than her. If you can't restrain a 120lb woman, how you can be expected to wrestle a 240lb drug dealer, burglar, etc?
With obviously no secondary officer on scene, though, I'd probably have done the same thing and with as many men standing around me, as that officer had, I'd probably have drawn my sidearm, when they didn't step back...after he told them 10 times.
Not in a racist note, but it is the usual large group of black people...who, of course, are doing nothing wrong (said as sarcastically as possible)...then, when questioned by police, something happens and out come the video cameras and them yelling about racism.

How about some props for that guy in the blue? He tried to control the girl in the pink that got punched, but to no avail. He could have made the situation worse then it needed to be, but choose the high road, pretty impressed.

Ja, that's my feeling as well. It took this guy, what?, 2 minutes to finally put cuffs on her? Him wrestling around with her, made the video seem alot worse then it needed to be. Drop her on the ground, cuffs on, in the back of the squad car. Game over.... Needs some more training classes or something.
