polyclad removal ?

Siphon once you see it.
I have tried this, with mixed result. There is a danger that I don't get all of the worm. Then I risk the chance of it becoming or 2 /3 new worms. I have read that they can spawn 100 to 200 new worms also.
This is what I have been doing so far. I grab a flashlight and search the tank at night. (I know get a life!) The trick is to find them first; then catch them :hilarious.
I have found that they are easy to get if you can spot them on the sand bed or the glass. Forget even trying if they are on rocks, (unless the rock can be removed safely from the tank and given a fresh water flush)

I have removed about a dozen polyclads from 1/16 of an inch, to 3 inches.
Building a small cage and using a snail for bait?
That might be a option that will at least get me some sleep :sleepy:
Any other Ideas out there?
To bad they do so much damage. They are pretty cool to watch. I even got to see a fierce battle between a bristle worm and a polyclad. I have one less bristle worm :D

They are a large predatory flatworm.
Here's a pic of one I "acquired" while holding some rock for someone. It is folded back onto itself so you can see both the top and the bottom of the animal. It was about 3" long and 1.5" wide when fully extended.

The baiting trick worked out well last night. Altought I did not make a trap/cage. I attached some krill on a stick with a rubber band. I placed it in the tank after the lights went out. With in 15 minutes 2 polyclads were on the krill. I caught 3, and seen at least 1 more.
looks like I'll be hunting clads again tonight. At least they are easer to find now.

Not much to it really . I put a piece of krill on a stick holding it with a rubber band . I then placed it at the bottom of the tank, then polyclads started to come out. I then was able to net them. They are easy to net if they are on the sand bed or wall of the tank. I will be trying different kinds of bait to see what they perfer. Can't see giving up anymore snails if I can help it.
