All right, I got the nonsense figured out...
I got some rubber flooring liners.. and then duct taped two pieces together since they're only like 4 or 5inches high lol... and covered the screen on 3 sides.. seems to be working ok so far.

man I went to pick up some premixed saltwater at the LFS (I was in a rush.. lol) and saw some catalina gobies... ugh... I want, but can't have... they were being kept at 78F... if they live another month, I may get them, but until I have proof of life... gonna pass. I'm willing to run a chiller to keep my tank at 78F instead of 82F to keep those guys, they look insane in person. Oh well, keeping cold water species warm almost always fails, but ya never know..

waste of money... I'd rather pack this thing with all the small fish I can that aren't catalinas than setup a species tank lol..

I'm sure it's fine..
remember 150w lights work well on shallow tanks... on deep tanks (18-24inches+).. you need a 250w or 400w if its SPS dominated or deeper than 24inches.

Isn't 78F a lil hot for catalina gobies there max. temp they can handle is 74F...
seen some crazy stuff happen before...
they've been at this LFS for a month, they always label the date they come in.. I'm gonna give it another month and then pick them up lol..
they eat and they're active.

ok, well, hmmmmmm, does current usa make a setup like that with 250w? im thinking if i can find a good enough deal on em ill get that over
72" - 12 x 39 Watts (6 - 10K / 6 - 460nm Actinics)-only 600 bucks LOL
this is for the tanks im building next summer, only gonna be 20" high, so....T5HO's will work, right?

I gotta run this tank for a few days to see what it hits without a chiller.
It's got a 50w stealth heater and a 150w MH pendant about 9-10inches off the surface of the water.
I'm not gonna get the catalinas lol.. I always get lured but come to my senses.

The tank is starting to clear up... hopefully the rocks in there will work for a decent aquascape or else I gotta grab some other ones out of the tub...
