hmmm, really like g. smithii. i would definately consider getting one for my 12 gallon aquapod, but i dont want to abandon my fish. how long do you think they would co-exist in the same tank??? 2 hours??hahaha

Depends on the fish and the mantises personality, and wether the mantis has stuff to hunt. Ive seen it before.

im debating whether i want to devote my whole 12 gallon to a stomatapod or not.
G. smithii or N. wennerae probably wouldnt be happy in a 3 gallon pico for long would they?

No, theyd be fine for quite a long time, but theyd not be quite as "natural" it will be fine, but for both species try to find a rock with a hole in it like I did for Davo.

N. Wennerae, or G. Smithii
N. Wennerae are available from Tampa Bay Saltwater, look through their site youll find it. U can also order through ur LFS
G. Smithiis are usually available through ur LFS or online stores like stomatopod dot com. Just look through that lin earlier, and find one thats interactive, and is good for aquariums, but I reccomend one of those two.

The stomatopod site has some really cool choices there. Says the G. chiragra is the most aggressive. Sounds like my kind of shrimp. Lots of pretty morphs too.
I would buy a tank for a shrimp if the bright yellow one wasnt a spearer or I could find a zebra morph haha

im pretty excited for new pics
. yeah ive already looked on stomatopod dot com....cool website. im gonna check 2 see if my lfs can get any in for me. my only problem is that they would probably get me something like a peacock mantis thinking its G. smithii or N. wennerae. i dont have enough room for a peacock
oh well. (sorry bout my double post earlier....my computer was being stupid)

I went to the CT shore and got someone about 30 periwinkles for his mantis (got hermit shells formyself) and in one day half of them are gone.
