Put a CPR refugium HOB on mine and added a Tunze 9002, it been running for six months. The skimmer is good and the extra H20 added to you tank about 6 gals is good for your tank. Mine has cheato, sand and rock. I also bought the light that goes with that refugium medium size. Run a 1/15 chiller as well and have made no structure modifications to my tank.

Which tank do you have? You must not be running the top, right?

Nice thread nissan,
Another thing, maybe I missed it. Is on the Bio Cube, remove the bottom floor grate in the first chamber. This will allow for a heater and or in Spankos case a heater and a skimmer. I was amazed at the crap I found in mine after I removed it.
thankyou. yes you can do that. let me know if you need any help.
glad to help a fellow nano reefer

JBJ 28 HQI and I run it with hood on. Saw it on another form and just kept researching it until I knew what I needed. The Tunze is in the refugium and just in case you get one. You must fill the refugium one side than the other side and go back and forth other wise it is possible to pull off your tank. Will send pics tomorrow.

thanks man :)
One more thing for your thread here, I didn't do a clip on light or a submersible light. I scrapped off the paint on the back of my tank in that area. I then shine the light through the back glass. Nothing new I know but I thought I would mention it.

This is a CPR medium refugium, with a Tunze 9002 skimmer, the light is the stock light for the Cpr medium refugium, too big if your using the skimmer need the small light. In the refugium: Cheateo, astrea snail, emerald crab to keep out bubble alge and some hemit crabs with alot of copepodes. Its on a 28 gal JBJ, and light on only at night. When I said that you have to fill the refugium from side to side that because it keeps it balanced. The refugium hold six gal. The tank needs a wipe down and I need a better camera. No modification were made to tank, and it runs with a chiller as well.

I was looking to do this today, but I want a submersible light. Would a "Submersible Halogen Pond Light" work (it's the first choice on google) or anyone have any other suggestions. I can't take my top off or really mod the back where the tank sits

I have a small (1 gallon) in-tank fuge right now with 1-2lbs of live lava rubble, 1 lb of live sand with some worms, a handful of chaeto, and an emerald crab, so if I just remove the bioballs, get a submersible light, lay out the live sand on the bottom, live rock on top of that and then the chaeto on top of the live rock this will create a fuge? I'm sorry if this sounds stupid but it's my first tank and I want to make sure i'm doing everything correctly.

I have a JBJ 24 and I've been thinking of doing this for a while, not knowing others here had done it already. Here I was thinking I was so clever. I'm gonna do it today. So you don't run any carbon nissan?
