Are you going to be doing this a little later at all? With the way the weather has been here lately I wouldn't trust it but I would love some of the ric's. I just finally got some oranges and now I want a variety of colors.

I hope to have some still growing when the weather gets better. They grow pretty fast. I ahve a tank full of them. They are my favorite coral, then zoanthids next.

Good deal. Right now all I really have are Zoanthids and different types of shrooms (discosomas, ricordias, rhodactis, etc) but of course I don't have enough corals in my tank

The good weather has already started in many places so probably still be this thread. THey do ship very well as long as the weather is not causing flight delays. I thermos, insulate and heatpack them. Ricordea do very well in shipping.
***And a tip for everyone which I will post later somewhere else. I just read a thread on -- where someone ordered some rics from an aauction seller and drip acclimated them to their tank. Over the coarse of the next few days most of the ricordea were jelled and lost.
I cannot stress this enough. DO NOT ACCLIMATE CORALS! There is not need. Corals produce a slime that protects them and by acclimating them you are prolonging the time they are in a stressed state and introducing them to 3 different water conditions. The water they traveled in, the water you are making by adding your tank water and the final destination water.
For ricordea florida I recommend that you remove them from their container and place them in the dry for 30-60 seconds to get their protective slime going and then place them directly into the system they are destined for.
There is much debate on this but I can guarantee that if you do a poll and everyone is honest you will find that people that place their corals right into their systme have far less loss then those that drip acclimate.
This does not apply to fish and inverts that respire.

Just a FYI here...I bought 6 rics from him about 3 1/2 weeks ago. when the wether here was BELOW 0 overnight. (WISCONSIN)The USPS said it should be overnight, but it wasn't of course. I went in and picked them up at my local PO on day 3 at 8.00 in the morning when they opend. when I got the package home, the heat pack was compleatly used up and the water temp in the thermos was 58!!! The way that I aclamated them was to add one cup of tank water every 5-10 min untel I was within 5 degrees of my tank. this took about 40 min.
I thought for sure they would not make it...but here I am 3 weeks later and they look great...I did loose 1 but that was beacause it came loose in the tank and blew away. in any case he sent 7. so I STILL got what I paid for.
You can be sure you will be happy with any that you buy from him.

i just wanna tell everyone that i just got about a half a dozen rics & a yuma from him and i was really impressed with how everythign was shipped & it was so quick! Not to mention the corals were beautiful & i got more then i expected in all. hes a great person to do business with & anyone who buys corals from him not only is getting a good deal but high quality stuff!
