actually, it wouldn't make a difference to me... think about it, i wouldn't know what i was missing, and wouldn't have been able to tell the difference. and if it would have basically tortured my mother for me to live, then i would rather have her make the decision., if she couldn't handle me (her as in my actual mom, not adopters). then no.

This, imho, is what the "Aquarium" is for. Reasonable conversations on difficult topics. Technically anyone could say they are offended by practically every thread in this forum....
FWIW, Marilyn Manson offends me, but I won't lock that thread based solely on the topic either.

Folks, as I've stated, Mods have to react on a judgment call basis. Clearly she felt it was going to get ugly and locked it.
I've tried to explain this before. As Mods we are volunteers. We only have x amount of hours to spend on these boards. None of us feels passionately about "modding" a hodgepod of posts like those found in the Aquarium. If one of us sees a thread on here that is going to need babysitting and possibly take up too much of our time we'll lock it and expect members to move on.

We can't close every single thread that offends one person, otherwise there will be nothing left in the Aquarium. If a couple people report it as offensive, then yes we will definitely end it. Then again if you don't like a thread, why read it?
As for the gay marriage thread, it's definitely offensive to any homosexuals starting from the second post. I bet there's more than a few people that would get miffed hearing that gay marriage is completely not right (meaning wrong). I know half a dozen gay men that come to my shop (fish store) alone, not including women who I can't tell for sure and men that aren't open about it. I would have locked it if I had seen it first. What would have been accomplished by creating a few pages of deadlocks? We have considered getting rid of the Aquarium all together.
Ok now back to the original topic if we may.

where can i argue this?, because i think you know i'm right, and even if you don't think i'm right, i would like argue this because i think it is a just thread, and deserves to be on the aquarium.
