I enjoyed the RNC's speeches. I liked McCain's speech last night. If I can be/stay convinced that McCain/Palin will follow through with all they said last night I'll vote for them.
Thoughts?
Although the vast majority of the protestors were all about the first amendment, I hope that the d-bags wrecking everything enjoy jail and fines.

I'm really psyched about McCain. I have only one sticking point with him but everything else he is about conforms perfectly with my ideal candidate.
Government Transparency - Check

Reduced Spending - Check

Hobble Corporate Lobbiests - Check

Eliminate Earmarks - Check

Secure Our Borders - Whoops

Energy Independence - Check

McCain may be a divisive candadite...
I think the dem speeches were better crafted. Aside from that I liked Huckabee, and Palin would probably be 2nd. However, McCain's speech lacked the ingredients I am glad he didn't include... We all know his history as a POW... But from the speech I gathered he was running for War... all I heard was talk about the "fight". It was a character speech... a stump speech... more of the same McCain... He has to rise above that and tell us how his policy will effect us, and how he will fix the economy... All we hear is cut taxes, the economic plan sounds to be more of the same... He failed in talking specific on education, housing, middle class, unemployement assistance, health care.. His plans doesn't seem to include all americans.
It truely sounds like Bush 3...

Spoken like a true doe eyed, deer in the headlights Obamaite. McCain is not Bush and I guess if he does get elected you will be able to see the differences.

Gee, I'm shocked, I figured you would like the Republican ones better Rylan

IMO, Palin had the best speech of either convention.

He keeps talking about his POW days as if we don't already know. He mentions russia and I fear that's where he wants to attack if he gets in. Yet he also sad war is horrible.
Too bad palin's speech will be remembered and not his.

I told you what speeches I liked best...
I liked Joe Biden's son.
I liked Bill Clinton's
I liked Obama's.
I liked Huckabee
Palin's was good.
Overall, dems speeches had a plan.... there was a logical course they all built up to Obama...step by step... and he really delivered...
GOP wasn't as successful in the planning... and other than the two I mentioned, I didn't like much... McCain was overshadowed in delivery, and lacked the substance I was looking for...

Right.... after all she did was attack and no substance. Obama's was amazing. Everyone knows it. You just don't want to admit it.

Squid, you will never hear me say Obama is not a gifted speaker, if that were all there was to it, he would get my vote, he is a brilliant, charismatic speaker.
He is too idealistic, too socialistic, and too inexperienced. Period.
Palin's speech was great, and the most important speech of either convention, because if she didn't pull it off, it would have been a train wreck for McCain, she came through huge....Perhaps you
just don't want to admit it.

^ You made a good point but I was comparing speeches. All she did was attack Obama but failed to deliver what swing voters/independents wanted to hear. And her speech was full of lies.

You don't know that, and nor do I....You and I are not undecided or independents, we know exactly whom we are voting for don't we? McCain could have come out waved and said "thanks for coming, I'm gonna catch the end of the Redskin game, so long", and I still would vote for him.
Time will tell.

I'm undecided...leaning right. But, I am very much looking forward to the McCain/Obama and Palin/Biden debates. That is when I'll make my decision. I wanted to say that before I said this: No offence intended (but probably taken). It seems as though a good chunk of Obama supporters have "drank the Kool-Aid."
Opposite of Bush is all I want and hear!Opposite of Bush is all I want and hear!Opposite of Bush is all I want and hear!Opposite of Bush is all I want and hear!Opposite of Bush is all I want and hear!Opposite of Bush is all I want and hear!Opposite of Bush is all I want and hear!Opposite of Bush is all I want and hear!Opposite of Bush is all I want and hear!Opposite of Bush is all I want and hear!
Government´s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short
phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidise it. - Ronald Reagan (sarcastically speaking, of course)
That is what I don't want.

Your checks seem to be missing the key issues people are concerned about.
Not everyone wants the government to coddle them all their lives. Many of us want Government out of the way so we can run our own lives.

Obama has carefully stayed away from substance. There is no substance in voting "present". I don't think the Gov of Alaska was able to vote "present", she atually had to decide and lead.
In all honesty, I have respect for you and Rylan. You are posting here and not voting present. We may not agree, but you have passion for your beliefs. Someone who would rather vote present than follow his/her beliefs does not earn my respect.
