Korallis is too high in the tank and is periodically sucking air from the surface of the water. Lower it a tad.

If you are gonna get some Ceriths don't get any hermit crabs. For some reason they find the Cerith to be the tastiest thin in the tank. My sand is littered with Cerith shells, empty of course.

I have ceriths and hermits in mine, I made sure I provided plenty of empty shells for the hermits and havent lost a cerith yet. I think a hermit did kill a nassarius though (a hermit was wearing a nass shell) and after I saw that I bought some empty shells and seems like its been ok since.
I also feed scraps of shrimp every couple days and that also helps feed the CUC and keeps the hermit minds off the snails.
btw, your diatoms are looking tasty.

lolllll.. yeah, im going to grab a 3 large ceriths and 3 small ones, and a couple hermits for the time being. hopfully they dont mess with anyone..
in my 12, i havent seen any of my ceriths in weeks. i used 2 see them during feeding once in a while but i havent seen them in forever.. i guess ill scoop around the sand and see if i can find any empty shells.
edit:

i put in a small tiny branch of my hammer coral into my new tank. I cant tell you how much nicer it looks under my MH's.
This branch is soo damn tiny though.. it was from my buddys tank and the branch is soooo small.. He broke it off tiny but the coral is doing fine as you can see from the pic.. i put it in last night and this morning it was shinning.

i have 1 more branch same size that i will be putting in soon, along with my other corals.. will keep you posted with pics as you all know im a picture whore. To bad i always use my phone for the pics.. lol

Cerith or Nerite snails will clean up the diatom bloom fast. They are like dogs with a bone; don't stop until it's clean.

I think you had nassarius snails too. they dont eat algae, but usually leftover food. ceriths and turbos will eat the algae.
this is what i have for my CUC, i didnt put them in all at once, and added more when i thought was needed. the algae is pretty much in control at the moment.
5 ceriths
5 nassarius
2 turbos
1 trochus
1 peppermint shrimp
4 red legged hermits
3 blue legged hermits

frogspawn can sting other corals with its sweeper tenacles. i found this on fishlore...
A very cool looking Large Polyp Stony coral that is easily aquacultured is Euphyllia divisa otherwise known as the Frogspawn coral. They need moderate to high lighting levels, moderate water flow levels and will need to be fed periodically to experience better results. Their growth rates are comparable to other LPS corals. SPS coral keepers will find them to be slow growers.
They can be quite aggressive like most other Euphyllia species and they should be given a lot of space between themselves and other corals. 8 to 10 inches of space is not unheard of and allows for growth of the coral. Sweeper tentacles can be very long (6 to 8 inches) and very damaging to other coral species. Give them plenty of room. Placement wise, you can put them in the bottom of the tank if you have high output lighting like T5's or Metal Halides. Put them up higher if you have moderate lighting.
Fragging them is not very difficult and hopefully most frogspawns are purchased as frags at the local retailer or online. Expect to shell out around $30 to $50 for a small or medium sized frag. To acclimate them to your tank perform a 1 to 2 hour drip acclimation to get them ready for your tank's parameters. Keep the calcium and alkalinity levels up, ph stable, keep them well fed and they should grow nicely.

theyre fairly up high in my tank because i was planning on putting corals down low and let them grow up torwords the rock.. if it starts to look bleached ill move it down.. thanks..
im going to pickup my new frags today...
as far as my clown? will he be okay in my tank with no rocks in there?.. theres 1 forg spwan and like very little rock.. 1-2 pounds at MOST .. should i just put him in my new tank?.. i was going to wait it out for a bit before i move him in as i just put all my corals into the new tank but i duno..
i get mixed reviews from .. put as many corals as u want at on time and stick to 1 fish per week..

I would probably move him over. There will not be a lot of biofiltration in the 12 gallon that you moved him out of, so the parameters could change quickly. JMO

okie dokie ill move him tomorrow...
guys i just got back from buying my CUC! I did somthing stupid but its okie i did not put him in my tank yet.. i have some questions that i hope every1 can answer for me as i dont want to do the wrong thing
for one.. i got about 4 cerith/nasiarous/ snails .. 4 hermit crabs.. and a sand swifting starfish..
now my questions are if you guys can PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE answer and help:
1) I did not put my birttle starfish in my tank as i was not sure if he would be to much for my CUC.. (i got him because i was down to have a starfish in my tank... they are really cool).. I dont know of alot of people putting these in here so im assuming there is a reason? i put him in my 12 gal for now so it will be easier to move/transport him to my new tank!
2) frogspwan/hammer.. *can they sting eachother? I have them right next to eachother and i have them away from everything so they dont sting other things but can they hurt eachother?..
3) I also got a bunch of frags from: Hawk eyes/fire on ice/peanut butter cup/etc.. they can be next 2 eachother right? They wont sting eachother?..
4) Can my corals above i duo what u call them? "polyps" ?.. can they sting my mushrooms.. do i need to place each in sections?.. or they wont hurt the mushrooms?
5) I also got some GSP (yes i know they spread) i will kill what i dont want... but will they hurt my mushrooms/and the polyps of all the new stuff ijust got?.. im
i got a lot of cool frags today that i cant wait to post pics of.. i got somthing that i dont know the name of but i will of course post pics of everything and hopfully u guys can help me name them.. THANKS GUYS!!!

HAHA! you would think thats what it looks like, wouldnt you?
all the cups looks like chinese takeout for wonton soup or something...mmmm...that sounds really good right now....
unfortunately i dont have answers to most of your questions about the corals. My general rule is most corals will sting each other one way or another or suffocate them by growing over each other. Some corals sting when their bodies touch and some corals have sweeper tenacles which generally are powerful and have a long reach. Make sure corals like your frogspawn and i think hammer have plenty of room around them, about 4-5 inches from other corals because they have the sweeper tenacles.
Eventually your zoos, palys, and shrooms will grow and spread and bump into each other. They will compete for space but usually their stinging will halt the growth. I suggest you seek out an abundant coral tank thread such as Rebel's and ask him what his experience is.
The GSP is one of the suffocating, non stinging corals. It can grow over and snuff out corals. hope that helps.
