actually got a thermometer (extra) in my droar, lemme pull it out and leave it out for like 10 minutes and ill let you know what the temp is.. but trust me .. it is NOT hot in here.

You should try the fan blowing across it for a couple days just to try it out. See how it works for you. Maybe more water changes from evap wont bother you as much as your paranoia.

hoenstly i can care less about wate rchanges.. i will be making my gravity ATO (hopfully it will be successful) rofl.. what worries me is my weekends.. FRIDAY-SATURDAY-SUNDAY i loose A LOT of water.. id say a little over half a gal.
the temp of the room is 69-70 degree's btw.
my tank TEMP as of now reaching 3.5 hours of running is @ 81.1 degrees.. so far its doing better then i thuoght. im going to set a fan tomorrow when i get in on timer so when thelights come on.. fan comes on as well.. lets see hwo that goes.. i gatta look around the house and try to find one.. i went to osh the other day to find a little clip on fan and couldnt find ----... any recommendations?..

maybe before you leave for the weekend you can add a little more water than usual. I did that before my vacation and it worked out well and didnt have to worry about top off.
As for clip on fans, you may even try office stores like Office Depot or Office Max. Even Target or Walmart. Good luck.

yeah but when ive got corals and fish in there and i top the hell out of my tank, its going to mess with my salinity..
but reguardless.. i tried office depot and they tried selling me a cpu fan .. haha.. they didnt havea nything..osh didnt have anything..
i 4got to show you guys this mushroom.. i threw it in my tank .. it was free with a hammer coral, the guy just therw in like 4 mushrooms (loose) he ripped off a rock and i figured ill take 2 of them and leave the rest for my buddy.. i tryed 2 attach it 2 a rockbut of course it fell off and i could never find out.. this morning i went to the side of my tank and lookie what i found.. haha.. can any1 ID this?.. there is 1 more in the tank but i have no idea where it is...


P.S - tank is now @ 81.3 .. lol

IMO a 3 degree swing in temperature over a 24 hour period is not bad enough to be worrying about. That said I think your idea of moving the light upwards is a good idea. According to some things I have read a 5% swing is about the maximum you want to see in a tank. Of course working towards no swing is what we want to do. You started at 79.5 or 79.2 whatever and are now at 81.7, only 2.5 degrees or about 3.4% difference.
I think you are being a bit too anal about it.

YOUUUUUUUU guys made me anal about it!.. haha if you guys are saying its fine i can give a ---- less... i thought it was somthing major to worry about.. with that being said.. im excited that it sitll has not passed 81.7 .. stil stuck there..
anyhow.. i stil should probabaly run a fan.

i dont want to add those big snails though to this one (turbo?) .. the one tha WHISK as well has with the cheato antlers.. lol.. those annoying asses knock everyyyything over bulldozing everything.

im down for some sexy shrimp.. are these guys hard to keep?.. how many can i keep in the tank?.. what do they eat? any speical diet.. i really like the other shrimp that eats starfish but i dont want to deal with feeding starfish to a shrimp .. i feel its going to raise my bioload
