sexy shrimp are awesome. You can get a good amount in your tank 5+. I feed mine small shrimp pellets to keep them from picking at my coral. They are very fun to watch and pretty sociable but i often catch mine on my coral. Just watch them because they do "host" i think some coral but also pick at others. Keep them well fed and they will be happy. I always watch mine hangout together. They are also best kept in odd numbers but i have 2 and they are happy together.

today whenic ame in.. my tempwas at 79... i dont know why it was higher then yestedray... and now its @ 82 flat..

haha, the big snail i have, that used to have the chaeto antlers is a trochus snail, followed by the two turbo snails. I've been using epoxy on my frags to keep them in place so no problems yet with them knocking the frags over.

haha, how many should i start with.. i think i added like 5 in my 12 gal and i think they may just be all dead to be honest.. i have not seen them in over 3 weeks.. they used 2 come out when i feed the tank but i havent seen them in forever.. im assuming theyre dead?..
i see they have LARGE ones and they have reallllly tiny ones too.. bleh my sand disgusts me.. i miss my clean sand.. ROFL
P.S - had a terrible day today.. i was training my co-worker so i couldnt keep up with the tank updates in the thread.. however
when i walked into the office.. it was 79degrees (the tank) by the time i was leaving it was at 83.00 with about 45 minutes left of the light cycle.. im taking my fan in tomorrow....

you guys, once my tank is setup.. im going to be taking down my 12 gal.. do you guys think i should use it as a FUGE?.. i rememebr someone using there 12gal nano as a FUGE on there tank too.. i have NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO idea what i would have to do to go about it as far as plumbing or ANYTHINGGGGG
to be honest.. i dont even know what the fuge and stuff is for however i have a useless tank.. lets make use of it?.. anuy1 want to point me in the right direction?.. do i even need this?.. thanks =]

That is a good idea. Talk to fcatch, for a little while he plumbed his 14 gallon to his 29. He decided, ultimately, to run them separately but they were plumbed together with the 14 acting as a refugium.

arrite guys, w00t w00t!
got into the office today... tank was at 79.5.. i topped off my water like ususal and it dropped to 79.3 and the lights kicked on along with my OVERSIZED huge fan for the tank ROFL (it was the only one i could find) ill take a pic in a minute..
instantly within the first 20 minutes my Temp started to DROP let alone rise...
the tank is now @ 78.6 ..

Now if you could get a temperature control unit, hook the fan into it and have it turn on at 82 degrees and off at 80 degrees that would be the bomb!!!!
Of course a nicer fan is in order, computer fan 12 volt perhaps.

haha, finally a fan! sounds like its working so far. have you tried searching online for a clip on fan or something?
yeah cerith snails will eat that brown up. i have 5 in my tank. They are the only snails i have that will eat that stuff on the sand. The nassarius wont eat it, and the turbos and trochus rarely ever tread on sand, they prefer rock or glass.

awsome.. i WILL be getting a new clip on fan.. but iw anted to run this fan and make sure everything will be working fine..
as far as a temp controll.. i dont think i would be able to rig that up.. haha.. however the fan is set on timer with the lights... lights kick on, fan comes on.. lights go out.. fan goes out..
i should pick up my snails soon.. my tanks a mess.. i probably will be picking those up this weekend..
if any1 has a good recommendation on a clip on fan .. (small) please shoot me over a PM ;-) ..

DAMN, everything ont here is big like mine.. im going to rock this huge one i got until i come across a decent fan.

anyone know why my tank has so many bubbles?.. they are pretty much everywhere around the tank, Its not like bubbels on the glass or anything.
