ATO i need a sump which i dont have.. they get expensive overall.. im looking at 200ish at least.
I don't have a sump. I have an ATO. The float switches are in the chamber that contains the return pump. Best investment ever. Cost about $90.00 for one from Reef Fanatic.

i never understood how it worked.. mind explaining?.. i know it has sensors to know the water level is low.. but where is it getting the water from if you donth ave a sump..?

When the water level in the return pump section gets low enough a float switch send a signal to the controller. The controller turning on the pump. The pump pulls fresh water from the 5 gallon jug and puts it into the chamber where the return pump and float switches are. The rising water gets to a level where the float switch turns off the pump.

do you guys think this is worth it?.. im going to say NO because its to much of the same rics but who knows.. what do you guys think?:
"big colony of florida rics? has about 8 mouths, and is attached to a flat piece of live rock... also comes with tag-along blue cloves"

he says he wont frag it... $120... worth it or hell no?

Well around here a 1" frag of blue snowflake polyps (Clavularia spp.) runs around $30. So take that away from the $120 and you have $90 left. $90 divided by 8 rics = $11.25 per polyp, not such a bad deal.

yeah they charge $30 a mouth over here too so thats a good deal but I would wait until you can find a fragged one so you have more room in your tank.

i thought t would be a good idea to trade for other rics?.. frag them out and keep them around to trade locals for different rics?..
i have zero experience fragging but i heard its not hard at all for rics.
