Royal Gramma Help

You don't have to remove the clown. I would try to qt and give it time to heal. After it heals, rearrange the tank and put the royal gramma. If you can't qt, then rearrange the rock and closely watch the fish. Do you have coral in the tank? If you don't drastically reduce the lighting periods.

Sounds like lymphocytis brought on my stress and/or aggression. Since you're saying that the fin is nipped, it's probably aggression.
A picture, although difficult to get, would really help you get a better answer.

Rearrange your rocks, add vitamins to the food.

DO NOT ADD ANOTHER FISH TO THIS TANK UNTIL YOU GET A QUARANTINE TANK!

What do your parameters look like?
What do you feed? How often and how much?

IF, and this is a big if, because I have no idea if it is in fact lymphocytis,
IF it is lympho, it can go away on its own if the fish is kept well fed and the stress/aggression goes away. The first second it is stressed, you'll see the lympho flare up again. I have a tail spot blenny that has lympho and every once in awhile it flares up, but good water quality, good food and some vitamins usually helps it go away within 10 days. Once a fish has lympho, it always has lympho, it will never go away, it's a virus that will just go dormant when the fish is healthy and unstressed.
Lymphocytis does not spread to other fish unless the infected fish does and is eaten by the other fish as best I know.

Look up lympho in the disease section......ther are good pics there....you will know once you see the pics if that is what it is...

brine is not a very good food....get some frozen mysis, marine cuisine, emerald entree, and soak them in vitamins

I can't tell anything from that picture to be able to say what that fish might have. Have you looked through the diseased fish section? Do you see anything that sort of looks like it? Beth posted some great pictures in there.

As Meowzer mentioned, get some vitamins in the food, my personal preference is VitaChem, but many people also like Selcon.

You still haven't posted your parameters. When someone asks you for parameters, they're asking what your water readings are such as nitrates, ammonia, nitrites, pH, alkalinity (aka Carbonate Hardness), calcium level, water temperature, and salinity. If someone asks you what setup you're running, thats when you say what type of filter, media (such as carbon), power heads, etc you have.

IMO, frozen brine shrimp is GARBAGE. It should only be fed as a treat to your fish, especially if it's plain brine shrimp and not even spirulina brine. That fish needs a better diet, and fast. You need to feed mysis shrimp, and mix it up with other meaty foods as well. Meowzer mentioned some excellent foods, but mysis should be a staple in their diet, especially if they're sick.

IMO, your fully stocked as far as fish go in the tank and when you move to a bigger tank, wait awhile before you load it up with fish or you'll have major issues on your hands.

Now, back to my original questions:

What are your water parameters?
Have you looked through the diseased fish section of the forum?
