saltwater question

i have heard of using 1 or 2 day old aged saltwater for water changes. what is the advantage of that? the reason i am asking is because i just mix mine right after i suck the dirty water out.

that way, the salt is well mixed, having proper ph and sg.

should i start doing that from now on? i would let it sit for a day with a powerhead in the bucket

That is the "proper" way. I have and sure I will in the future (sometimes) need to just add it within minutes of making it. This is in small amounts and still verify SG, temp and ph.
I just hooked up my RO/Di filter and hope to never have to use distilled or

Tap water again.

yes, I will only add "new" water in a pinch. Plan things out and have it ready. Mixed, tempature right and SG less things to cause problems.

Agreed. Mix and keep aerated and heated for the change at least a day in advance.
