yah LOL, what can I say. Summer time, outside projects, and the tank suffers (not really, but not enough time to post pics). But you motivated me, lets what I can do.
After I removed the zoas to dip them, I really noticed how much the man-made rock had colored up. Heres a pic I took showing white where the colony was located, and you can see all the coralline around it. Surprized me, I guess cause I see it everyday, I hadn't really noticed it changing color all that much. But once the white showed, it really stood out.

how long has it been in your tank

Took about three days after dipping before most of the zoas started opening back up. But when they did, I was really pleased with what I had gotten from a number of traders/sellers on this site.

One of the corals I'd really been concerned about lately was my orange carnation coral. I'd read and been told that they didn't have a great survival rate without an almost constant phytoplankton drip, and knew I wasn't going to be able to provide that. The coral had been going down hill, pretty much it was a hard orange knob, and wasn't even opening up anymore. Figured it was a goner for sure. Happened to be reading through PerfectDark's nanotank thread, and noticed that he was hand-feeding some corals by removing them from the tank. So I decided to try something similar.

This lead to an interesting conversation with PD, and he suggested several other methods he uses as well.

And happily, the carnation made a huge comeback

Thanks. Its been in for 7 months now. No purple up or calcium supplements (which by the way is all purple up is), although I did seed it to get it started with a couple of very small pieces of LR taken from several other mature tanks.

wow these all came in at once
Thanks
no, they came in over a time period of about a month and a half, and several of them had been in the tank for quite awhile. I just dipped them all at the same time.

Scopus, Nice pics and awsome diary. One of the best I have read on this site. Your tank and specimans are awsome. Keep up the good work.

June 12th was the last day I had the Red open brain, as I had traded it as a Father's day present for someone to my LFS, in exchange for some credit towards my orange/multicolored one. So of course I had to get a picture of it on the last day it was in my tank.

And of course the Red Gonipora was showing off at the same time, so I snapped a picture of it as well.

Soon! Between collecting like you and fighting cyno (which you helped me with) She's almost ready. Next will be a nice clam and then I can take a break and take some pics and enjoy and share with everyone. Thanks for asking. I'm old and slow, but I'll get there. LOL

LOL, aren't we all. Looking forward to seeing some pictures. I've been thinking about adding a clam as well, but I think I'm just going to let things ride for now for the most part. Maybe this fall when the weather cools off a little.

Also got a few good pictures of the fish. For some reason, the one male Yellowfin Flasher wrasse really likes to display for the Yellow Shrimp goby and the Purple Firefish goby ~ almost every picture of hime displaying is with one of the others. He never displays for the female. I'm really starting to wonder about him.

Another display

But probably the best one was this one. Didn't realize what I had till I was looking at the pictures the next day. It looks photoshoped, but really wasn't. Lead to some rather interesting conversations.
Anubisxero came up with a wonderful caption for it; "MAN, this guy is such a pain in my wrasse."

Of course there were lots of others, but you'll have to read the thread.

Purple Firefish goby for some reason I have a really hard time getting a picture of. For some reason its always out of focus. And I think the Rainford's goby has passed on. Haven't seen it now for quite awhile. Disappointed as it seemed to be eating and doing well
