I'll tell him to split the 3 into 2 for me and 1 for you. He is doing the split in a week or so. I have the first dibs on the frag. He is wanting to grow the rest of the colony out.

One of the Golden-coral bandeds molted Friday night (June 6th), had to get pics of the molt, looked pretty cool.

And some pics of the brains under the actinics last night ~ they were glowing pretty for me.
Here's the green

The Orange

and The Red

As you can tell, I'd obviously just fed the tank.

Thermos from the Thermos Blind Trade arrived on Friday (June 6th). Frag of blue-eye zoas and two Palythoa grandis (part of an experiment that Z and I conducted on the effects of carbon on long term shipping). Experiment went a little longer than we intended, but it appears to be all good.

Pic of Thermos

Pic of Frags on Arrival

Pic of Frags this morning; dispite USPS messing up, and the poor things spending 5 days in transit, looks like everything is going to be ok.

The thermos contains lists of names, showing the order of those who have participated in the blind trade previously.

Fats, PM flricordia, he's usually got something up for sale or trade. Appreciate the offer, but I'm trying to stick with just Florida ricordia in this tank ~ got a nice green yuma that now has three heads may have to sell or trade it myself.

Impending power outage at the high school ~ with no idea of what days it will actually be shut off ~ finally forced me to bring my zoas home. I've suspected a zoa predator is in this tank for awhile now, based on the disappearance of many zoa polyps. May have been because of low iodine or too much light, but wanted to cover all my bases. So I popped all the zoa colonies loose, and did a iodine dip on every colony (including all the new ones). By tonight, most were recovered and open, so I'll start placing again tomorrow.
Zoa colonies in iodine dip.

I like the color of the carnation, good to hear its doing better. There was a member on here I havent seen for a while. His name was Jonthefishguy, he has claimed sucess with one of these, and IMO he definatly knew what he was talking about. If I remember correctly he said decent flow, and in a dark place, for some reason they thrive in the dark and upside down. LOL dont ask I dont know. However frequent feedings are the key almost like a constant drip set up. But if yours is having success with your method dont change it.
BTW I Cant wait to see pics of all that stuff in the bucket.

Hey Scopus Tang, I just ordered some zoa frags from another vendor online and was wondering about your IODINE dip, I am going to be placing them in my nano where i know all my zoos have been doing great and want to make sure they stay that way. So how do i got about with the iodine dip and how long do i leave them in there ? And do i do it before acclimating them when i get them in the shipment or what ? If you could help me out i would greatly appreciate it. And also that rainsford goby, How is he doing ? I have a Hectors goby and mine will not eat any food i feed my fish either. All he does is sift sand and eat things from the rock. But i have had it almost 2 months now and he seems to do great. Swims along with my clowns and bi color blenny . All my fish seem to do well but just never seen this fish eating. Thanks and ALSO YOUR TANK LOOKS EXCELLENT.

Hey brenda, Thank you very much. Hope we got most of your questions answered on the man-made rock. Sorry haven't been here in awhile. Photobucket kind of messed up and I been to busy to post more than one or two pictures since. Got some great new pictures of how purple the rocks are becoming, gotta get updated soon (need a rainy day or two).

Blazin 2k6. I used Lugols iodine solution; 40 drops in 1 gallon of water from your tank. Let coral sit submersed for 10 to 15 minutes then place back in tank and discard water. I dipped/acclimated a couple new ones at the same time as I acclimated all my old ones. Didn't seem to hurt anything. Hope that helps ya.
As far as the Rainford's, I think he may have passed. Haven't seen him for two or three days now (hoping he'll show back up). he was picking at the algae a little and eating when I fed the others, so figured he was going to make it, but now I haven't seen him, so I don't know
. Kind of bummed he had great color.
Thanks for the compliment, now if I could just get this thread updated.
