Well its called a dip Ive looked up dips they say that 7 to 10 seconds is perfect because when the paricite touches fresh water it dies or gets week and kind of lets go 7 minutes wont kill it but you def shouldnt do it

You most definitely can FW dip a fish longer than 7 minutes if needed. Not all parasites die instantaneously.

So how many fish have you freshwater dipped? I have done a lot of research on fresh water dips and agree with Cranberry. Many sources recommend 30 mins to an hour.
