when you have removed the cyano from the sand does it come back in the same spot
Yeah...there are a few spots that it shows up in...I only posted a pic of one.
Last week I added another PH just to see if that would help...so far it really has not made much of a difference
I am thinking of getting another MP10 like BTLD suggested and trying that....I'm currently shopping for a good deal though....LOL

WELL....I tried the MP10 on the back of the 225G.....it kept falling off..SOOOOO...I am wondering if 1/2" is too thick for the MP10
ANYONE have any clues????

Lois this is just my own experience and nothing else. I had to deal with cyano in an area near the front of my tank. It was not a big area but it was there none the less. I would syphon out the mat of cyano and in a few days it was right back in the SAME spot. I was sure that the area was getting good water movement, but just to be sure I tied a piece of thread on a chop stick and placed it over the cyano to verify water movement. I also checked other areas that I was sure were getting less movement this also proved correct. These areas never had any cyano colonization. Now for the strange part. I decided to see what would happen if I syphoned out all of the CC in the small area where the cyano did colonize. Replaced the area with cc from the back of my tank and guess what. The cyano never recolonized.

BTLD.....I even tried it on the front of the tank so we could tell 100% it was aligned....IT would not stay put :(
JOE....SO are you saying you just moved some cc (in my case it would be sand) from one area of teh tank to another? and it worked??

Yes but I removed the area of CC where I had the cyano all the way to the bottom of the tank
OH....That may be a little hard for me...this is the on BAD thing about a 30" tank :(
MAYBE if I get a long net....I can scrape some off....IDK....I'm gonna wait for my chemi-clean to come...and see what happens with that I guess :(

LOL...Yeah you may be right....Poor guy....I'm so glad this is MY hobby....HAHAHAHA
I swear I have said this before....BUT IF NOT FOR HIM....I think I would have to get rid of the 225G...I try to do most things myself...BUT when you can't reach.....you just can't

HEY JOE.....WHen you did the Chemi-Clean how many airstones did you run?
I'm thinking with the 225G ..3...One for each side and the center...It says to run them before and AFTER the treatment
ALSO....it says to turn off the skimmer.....DO you have any idea for how long it needs to be off?

Meowzer, run all the airstones you have during treatment. I believe that is why people have had bad experiences with it, they didnt oxygenate enough during the treatment and their tank was depleted of o2, causing a cascade of problems. just my 2cents.

WELL...I got the CHemi-Clean today....so I am going to add 3 airstones tonight, and treat in the morning......BTW this is the TEENYIST spoon....LOL....I am gonna be measuring for a while
ANYWAY....I will turn protein skimmer off when I treat, and I will make up 40G's of water and do a w/c after 48hours.....which will be Sunday (works for me)

LOL...WELL I have 3 airstones going....I'm not too sure the fish are too happy about it though
REALLY....what's the worst that could happen....they get mad...LOL
ANYWAY...this was funny...I had all my airline out, connectors, and check valves.....I was adding the last line, and had the stone in the tank....and the airline on the floor to measure it.....NO CHECK VALVE YET.....cause I was measuring....LOL...Well when I turned around I had a puddle
Good thing I was only measuring...SOOOOO I am now happy to say all lines are in, and all have check valves
