whats wrong with Bio balls.......they can be cleaned.
Also, miracle mud has been in our tank for several years. Even switched out half last year. Probably will use again on new hex that we have been trying to find time to set up.
Did the cat come with the tank? Looks like he busted out of the cabinet

Your fuge is killer! When i set up my fuge and tank i really didnt know what i was doing. I set up everything right but i wish i could have done somthing seperatly. I dont understand why people buy those refugiums instead of buying a nice 25-30 gallon tank, plexi glass and silicone. That will save you alot. How much do you buy your fuge for?
Did alot of that coral come with the rock (like in the 4th picture)

Fabulous thread, Snaily!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love it love it love it! You should do a whole webpage of how-tos. They aren't hard to do at all and most places give you at least some free space plus there's the other ones on the web that give you free space.

in this picture i have a ball valve for water regulation, and a check valve for back-flood prevention. i also have a Y connector with a coupling to fit the pump.

Do we also need the Cat too???? Looks like I am missing a crucial piece of equipment then!!!!!!
