Very nice additions. I can't wait to get my tank going again. I scrolled through a bunch of other peoples build and its getting me excited.

Yeah dude. It's taken me six months to finally get ready for SPS frags. lol. I still am tweaking things here and there.
I'm going to order some clean up crew next week. I'm all outta snails. I'm givin' away my hermits to a buddy of mine. I'm going to go all snails and maybe a few green mythrax crabs and some brittle stars for scavangers. I think I'm going to get a peppermint shrimp too because I spotted a couple aiptasia.
Oh yeah, I just ordered "The Reef Aquarium, Vol 1" by Sprung and Delbeek. Hopefully it will give me more information than what I can find on the internet about taking care of SPS corals. It should be arriving sometime on monday or tuesday. I kinda bought it also because I need something to read in the evenings to calm me down. I've been getting a bit nervous because of Emma getting here and everything. If vol 1 is good, I'll get vol 2 which is soft corals and LPS for my wife. But what I really want is Vol 3 that is everything to do with equipment and technicalities. Each book of the three volume series is over 500 pages each. Textbook size. lol
Anyways, the greensleeves isn't opening it's polyps yet, but that's ok and to be expected. Harry called me this evening to make sure everything was going well and that I was satisfied. Great person - good business sense, Highly recommended. :D
Oh, and I'm sad to say that I am getting rid of the scrubber for now and opting for chaeto. The reasoning is because I want to get rid of an extra pump and light to cut down on my electric bill some. On my future 90g I'll have it built right inside a 10g tank, but for now, the scrubber gotta go.

Me too buddy. Me too.
Its raining hard this morning. Slept in till 9:30. Lol. Rarely ever do that. It's such a soothing sound to listen to the rain while sleeping in the morning.
Power went out too for a couple hours last night. I hope my new additions are still ok.
Still can't wait to get in those bulbs and tha book. Lol. That mp10 is still calling my name. I'm gonna start socking back $10 here and $20 there for it when I can. Money is gonna be extremely tight for about six months. Good thing a couple of bills will be entirely paid off next month, saves me $300 a month woohoo!
So I'm looking at that website again and putting together another frag list. Lol. This next order will be all acros. I'm going to give my new corals time to adjust and repair and grow som. probably won't order anything until after I move this summer. But! I'll take plenty of progression shots for those interested.
On a side note, I'm starting to see red coralline algae starting to grow everywhere. I really like the purple, but only the red is growing. Lol. No idea why.

Yeah, babies are expensive...but worth every penny, I promise!
Enjoy those peaceful sleeps, they don't usually come too often once babies are involved, unless you luck out and get a really good baby!

Don't get me wrong, I'll spend whatever I have to to take care of my little girl. lol I just thought I would have had an extra $200 to spend on that MP10. LOL
There's some tissue recession on the greensleeves and the spongodes. It's ok though, some corals make it and others won't. I dont expect every last one of them to live that I buy. It's just disappointing to watch them slowly melt away. I guess my tank wasn't ready for the more delicate SPS yet. Oh well.
I think I'm going to stay away from acros in such a small tank for the time being. I'm going to try to concentrate on montiporas, pocilioporas, seriatopora and stylophora. Just some hardy little varieties. Once I get a larger tank I'll move on to more delicate species.

Ahh that sucks though :( Everything else doing well after your power outage?
And again with the google search...all of those are pretty great looking corals :)

I finally got around to getting some super glue gel and got my frags glued on my rocks. Out of the seven frags I got, only two of them still aren't doing well. I'll post a new pic later on tonight.
Testing my water parameters again tomorrow to make sure everything is spot on.
Seems like I am going to have to buffer my nsw at every water change. Instant ocean salt sucks for reef tanks. I hope I can run out of the stuff and invest in some decent salt.
My brine shrimp went bad, so I'm temporarily feeding flake food.

Yes..However do not do so until you are certain the coral is happy in that spot. I speak from experience.
I haven't glued any to my rockwork. If I have a frag on a plug then I find somewhere it's happy and just let it encrust. For frags not on plugs, I epoxy them to rubble rock so I can move them around. I'm running out of places where I can set plugs, though, so I may have to start gluing frags to the rocks.

I placed them in the tank to see where they may be happy. Then glued them. My fish and powerheads kept knocking them over. The superglue that I used is just enough to keep them in place, but not enough to never be able to get off if needed.

My book came in today. I've been flipping through it this evening. UPS tried to deliver my lights today, but the package for some reason requires a signature, so it went back to the UPS distribution center. I called and had it held there, and I'm going to pick it up in about an hour. I can't wait to experiment with the new lights. I'm sure my corals are going to perk up a bit. :D
Now off to read some more. :D

Lol. Y'all are pushy.
I like the book so far. It's a stony coral book. Vol 2 and vol 3 go into more detail on soft coral and reef keeping theory.
New pics are on their way later tonight. :)
