Snake's 240gallon Tank Build!

Well, it's running with tap for now. It's de-chored. Don't worry about the rock, that's leftover base rock.
The stand is COMPLETELY level - built stirdy and perhaps the best that I have ever built.
Bad thing - the house wasn't built level. The aquarium is sitting about 1/4" to 1/8" off on the right corner.
There's no styrofoam, so I might empty it and start over. I dunno.

SB, looks like you're making progress - slow and easy wins the race! Don't get your level issue though - how can the stand be level, and the tank 1/4" off? Is the tank tweaked against a wall or something? If you're stand needs to come up, those little plastic shims from home depot work great, but if the issue is between the tank and stand; either your stand is tweaked or the tank is, either way, not good - definitely need to consider the styrofoam option.

I thought about it, and I think I am going to empty the tank and shim it the best possible way. There's no access to the back, and I can't move the tank anymore from the wall. Either I'm going to shim one side, or cut down the other side. Either way, it's got to be fixed. I'm not going to get styrofoam underneath the tank. I've seen styrofoam cause more harm then good.
What I was saying is that my house is not built on a slab. It's built above ground on wooden floor joists. I went under the house and braced the house up underneath my stand. The only other way besides shims is to go under the house and use a jack to jack the house up 1/4" on the left side, which I think I might do.

Ah, now I think I understand - your house is built on stilts!
1/4 ain't much to jack up a house, but do check to see how jacking up the house will affect the roof, floor, corner trim etc., cause it will change - and you don't want to have to reroof. If you decide to shim the stand instead, you probably want to check - you might be better off to cut a shim board to the exact size so the whole stand is supported rather than only a portion of it depending on how far off it is. I would definitely figure out how to get the tank sitting on the floor/stand - otherwise you could end up with some major issues. Best of luck

Due to a series of unfortunate events, I am going to sell off this tank and all of its contents. If you are interested, please e-mail me.
Half my maintenance accounts said that they could no longer afford services, even though I gave them considerable discounts. I must have been undercut somehow because I have just lost my last major service account. Essentially, I am jobless. I need the money, so I have to sell the tank and a few other non-essential things that I own.
I will hang around here, probably for awhile until I get my next tank, but for now, no income, no tank.
Sorry to let anyone down.

It will take a few years, once I can get my home and some more money in my pocket, but I am sure that I will be able to do it. Life has most certainly got in the way on this one.

Can I see some more picts of the plumbing and jets?
Different angles I'm especially keen on the return line...1.5" I am doing 1" myself. How many outlets do you think I can have off 1" return line? And what size pump? I am thinking 1800GPH, but am considering spending a little more to have a good 2200-2400GPH if that's not too much overkill.
nice thread. I especialy like pictures and descriptions of them.
