For crimzy, a few photos of my Dussumieri Tang.

Awesome fish... I recently passed on a 12" Australian Duss... didn't want to pay $500 for a fish right now. I have to get one of these guys soon. Thanks for the pics.

Goodwin, do you know if your Duss came from Hawaii or Australia?
BTW did you see that $500 Sumatran 9 inch White Spine Tang on DD that disappeared in about a minute a few days ago?

One I know of for sure came from Hawaii, the other I am not sure.
I did see the posting. I thought that it might have been a little over priced, but then again, you don't see them very often.

I found these pictures of the Vlamingi that were taken back in March of '07, three or four inches at the most.

Here it is in a photo take a few weeks ago...

I know you probably hate this kind of a post, and I didnt read mostof the 2000+ previous postings, but is there an approximate price range for the tank+equipment+livestock+accessories? I couldnt imagine the prices. If not, then anout what did you pay for a tank this massive?

WOW

Did I see a large Chevron Tang in there or was it just one of the other 26 tangs?

No there isn't. I tried one a while back, about 3" in length, it was harrassed so bad during the night that it didn't survive.

That's a shame... those are one of my favorite tangs... I guess with so many tangs, it is kinda hard to add any other small ones...

It was poor judgement on my part. When the Chevron arrived, I should have known that adding that small of a tang to a tank with so many larger tangs was asking for trouble. I should have put the fish in the frag tank where it would have been safe and had a chance to grow a little.

I guess it's been said many times that your tank is amazing. But what I truly love about your tank is not the size, nor the amount of fish that you have. I love looking at a tank where the fish all appear so fat and healthy... where their colors are so vibrant. It's clear that you work hard on this system. Nice job.

What are your experiences with your Clown Tang? I mean like, what it eats, care difficulty, etc. I have been thinking about getting one and figured that with 27 tangs in one tank, you would be my best bet for info...

My experiences over all with Clown tangs have not been very good. I have tried several times to keep smaller ones and didn't have any success with them. They don't eat like the other tangs when fed, so I am not sure what is best to feed them. The Clown along with a Convict tang are two tangs I wouldn't recommend to try and keep based upon the experiences I have had with them in the past.
