How do you keep your rics in that tank looking so amazing - I have never had luck with them.
I can tell you that the tank doesn't have a lot of flow, and is lit with 6 39 watt T5 bulbs. I did not have luck when I placed some in the 600 which has a lot more flow & 400 watt MH lighting. I run the lights for 6 1/2 hours per day. Once a week I will add either phytoplankton or cyclopse to the tank. I keep the temperature in the tank around 78 degrees.

I'll try to shade mine a bit and keep them out of direct flow - they just always seem to look great and then 'melt' away after 3 mos or so. Mine are also under 6 39 watt T5's, but only in a 40 gal.

Sounds like you are doing every thing I have been. In the eight months that I have had the tank set up, I probably have had 6 - 10 melt away. I really have no idea of what might cause this.

I've just spent the past couple of days reading this entire thread on and off. You've got an amazing tank and I must say I truly enjoyed "watching" the entire process!!
