Starting a Nano tank

Well yea and no lol.

what i did was this i put a black sponge in the bottom. dont cover the holes where the water goes to the return pump. then i put a cup with mangrove and lr rubble with the chaeto floating around. i didnt put the heater cause i dont need it. its up to you. and my light which is a clip light 7watt 7200k.

Only problem with any of those is that for $300 you ar enot going to get good lighting like MH, a chiller, auto top-off and so on. If I had #300 to spend on a new set-up I would buy a 20 long, have it drilled for a 1" bulkhead, buy a 10gl for a sump, build or buy a cheap but quality stand, a couple koralin 2s, a T5 lighting unit and an auto top-off DIY or float type. This you could do for $300 or less easy if you can DIY and research.
I supose this would be a good idea, but the thickness of the glass has to be built for saltwater, and those are particularly hard to find for cheap.

Wow, that seams easy enogh. Does it keep the water parameters at bay pretty good though(basically, is it worth it to make?).

20 longs are hard to find for cheap? Glad I am where I am as I can get them for $30 and less.
No thinnner than the nanocube, biocube or aquapod.

well yea. if you do what i do it will keep your parameters perfect. this is what i do as follows. i turn on the main lights. but first i put the actinics for 1 hour then i turn on the daylight. and when ima turn it off i turn off the daylight and leave the actinics on for one hour. and right before i turn the actinics off i put on my fuge light to keep my ph stable. and my nitrates are always at 0ppm. which is the best thing. and nitrites with ammonia are always perfect to

well by my area i can get a 20 long for 15 at walmart

Yeah, all I found were 20l's that are made for reptiles.

um at my lfs. they have those little pico for sale and i just ask for the light. you can use any light for the chaeto and mangrove

Oh. ok. I know what you are talking about, my lfs has those too. Does the biocube have lunar lights and fans on the hood to?

yea. if you get the bio cube 29 it brings 3 1watt lunar lights with 2 built in fans for the light. thats the one i have and its amazing

well i got my 29 for 150 cause it was used. a new one i think goes for 300 idk. ask your lfs if they have a new one. or search through online to find cheap used ones

How long have you maintained those corals. The anemone doesnt really sound like it would be a problem either, unless it is a condolactus, because they grow very large in short periods of time.
I have had most corals for about 3 months now with no problems at all (knock on wood) I don't have a good water change schedule either... sometimes its a week others it 2 weeks due to just being really really busy. saltwater is a lot easier than some people will say... not as easy as fresh but still not too hard.

IMO I believe that an AIO is not the way to go. I have one and its great but they are not very customizable. If I could of I would of went with a 10 gallon and added a skimmer good lights and a good filter. But the AIO are great for beginners and I love mine but don't expect it to be very customizable.
