The green starfish that are known to eat fish are Green Serpent Starfish and they get very large.
 
The red starfish that we are telling you are safe are Red Brittle Starfish.
 
Brittle starfish are of the Orphiocoma species and Serpents are of the Orphiderma species.

The green serpents that we've been talking about that have been known to eat fish look similar to that second picture but they're green. It can be hard to tell the difference, but green = bad, just use that as your reference.
