Superman Monti.. Is it a good price?

I stopped in at my LFS today after they recieved a shipment, and I was shocked to find a chunk of superman monti sitting at the top of one of their tanks. They've only gotten it in one other time, and that is when it hitched a ride on a piece of rock with a leather. Anyways, I'm sorry I didn't have my camera to take a pic, but the piece, by estimate, is about 3.5" by 2.5". The asking price on it is $120.
Since I'm an SPS n00b, I figured I would consult the pros before buying it (I've got it on reserve for me until Friday).
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks!

Sounds great to me... a large local coral supplier had one that I was thinking about purchasing and it was $120 for a 1.5" frag. My advice..... Go get it!

Awesome. Sounds like I'll be picking it up on Thursday or Friday, then

And to compensate, I'll be picking up a case of Pabst rather than Grolsch afterwards
...For the next two months

If it's a true superman monti then that's not a bad price but there are a lot "supermans" out there that aren't the real thing. If it were me, I'd get a frag from a local reefer.

How can I find the difference? Do you know of any tells to look for?
And what color are the polyps when they come out, usually?

like 99% chance its a maricultured piece. chance it will brown out and never get its color back. also a chance it could do good.
just an fyi, you could get the same size piece of the real deal superman for a similar price.

Hmm... Now I'm suspicious, because from the brief look I had taken at it today, the coloration of the base itself was great; bright blue and red. However, the polyps I had seen protruding out were more green... What does that say about it?

Look dont pay attention to what anyone else tells you. IF you like it enough to want to buy, then BUY IT. If it is something that you dont have to have, then dont get it. But either way, apparently you dont have anything like it now so having it will be a new and impressive addition.
