T316 is helping out a little bit too.

Although the crowd is chanting for more pictures.
Hey, thanks Spidey & Scotts. I'm trying to get them up. Wifey walked by the computer tonight & saw my avatar (not knowing it was mine) and proceeded to blast that moron. Looks like I'll be looking for another one....hey, I thought it was funny. I'll see what I can find.

Woman can be so insensitive sometimes. Mine told me if she'd know I liked nascar she would have never gone out with me and I'm getting married in a month!

Thought I would just make my 1000'th post here, instead of making a big deal of it. Been a great ride so far...special thanks to Sep, Beth & Fl. Joe for all the great info.
Scotts, Spidey, & others...I'm still working on some more updates, so I plead the camera excuse for the moment

This is already done right?
For the most part, the build is done. I just finished up with the chiller. The fish and corals are a work in progress, but it's enough to show if I ever get this thread that far.

Yes...I'm going to dig up some pics tonight, after my kid's ball practice, and see if I can pickup on some of the equipment and/or workroom that's down below in the basement. Just glad folks are still watching

Personally, I love reading thru threads of tank diaries, especially SCSI's. I'll have something up either tonight or in the morning.

Okay...Finally got my avatar changed after my wife's demeaning comments about my last one. I have also been uploading a bunch of pics trying to find some more that I could share here.
That's probably enough of the pics during construction. Jumping ahead...my intent was to not start the tank for 6 months to a year after moving into the house. The construction was just exhausting, mentally, physically, and financially, and there was so much more to do inside & out. But after only a few weeks, I concluded that if I didn't do it now, it might get put on the back burner and take 2 years, plus I was tired of staring at a big empty glass box in the middle of the house.
I won't go thru the entire setup process on the equipment, other than to put up a few pics. First, I didn't document much and second, I'm not all that "equipment" savy so if someone starts asking technical questions, I might not have the answer. I got a lot of help from my lfs owner and another setup pro, so most of the technical issues were handled by them.
Here's some pics right after set-up, during the cycle....
I didn't have 300 gallons of mixed salt water, so I mixed it right in the tank (not recommended) and surprisingly had hardly any die off from the lr

There is about 200 lbs of argonite sand substrate, and shown here is the first batch of lr...about 200 lbs of Indonesian
