Holy cow it's a misconception. 2 days ago I ask my 13 year old how hot he thought it was. He says, "It feels pretty cool...maybe 76...78?"

Dang I almost missed this thread! Yeah the *no camera* approach doesn't fly here. I'm sure your cell phone has a camera so start taking pics or we'll throw you out of the Nascar thread!

Looks AWESOME! I wondered if you had the tank built or if it was a premade tank. 280 is an intersting size.
Spider, I was starting to look into docking him 50 points for the NASCAR catch-all "Conduct detrimental to the sport" But he started posting pictures so I guess you could say he is just on probation for now.

Next was getting the tank in it's spot before too much more construction.
I got plenty of looks driving down Interstate 40 with this...
As you can see, I had to call in some reinforcements. It ended up taking 6 of us to move it. (btw...that's my 3 boys sitting/climbing on the truck)
Those who have read many of my posts know that I am pro-glass, for several reasons. But I admit, one big downside is "weight". However, if you can't tell yet...this tank is being built to stay. If I ever sell the house, I'm not planning on taking it with me.

Are your buddies in the picture into fish too or where they shaking their heads and wondering if they should rexerve a padded room for you ? I know everybody around me thinks I am nuts . My sister went with me to the lfs and there was a 220 full on reef as their show tank and she didn't believe me when I said it was worth at least a good 25-30 k . She thought I was nuts to spend 10 bucks on snails .
