taking a new direction

Here's what I got from Klaus last night. I just mounted them now and they are still a bit pissed off. Also, they were sitting in the sandbed so that also adds to their discontent.
Blue/Green Acro

I think this is hydnophora? Someone correct me if I am wrong.

No idea other than "really pissed off"

This thing was especially cool, though I dont know what it is. It started growing in stalks, then plated together above the stalks. It looked like a tree out of a cartoon.

I'm in a bit of a hurry (Janice is rushing me out the door to spend new years at this joint across the street). Of course I spent the other 364 days this year waiting for her to get ready. Women
. I'll let them settle for a few days and try to get better pictures. If anybody can ID any of them, I'd appreciate it as usual. Happy New Years everyone.

Still haven't pre-ordered any frags yet. I'm going to do a thorough search tonight. Hopefully that part for the calcium reactor will get here sometime in the next few days, then I will order the pH controller. Also, it is time to replace my bulbs. I was going to get Phoenix 14k's but I've gotten good results with the bulbs that came with my fixture so I'm going to give Odyssea's 20K's a try. My decision is not based on the cost of the bulbs. Like I said, I've had good growth and good color with their 15k's so giving the 20k's a shot seems reasonable. I definitely have to start researching LED's, though. Depending on whether I actually upgrade or not will determine whether I do a DIY LED or buy a fixture.

Are you going to the frag swap on the 28th at that pet place?

I am. It will be my first frag swap and my first time to that pet place.

Last year they had pigs! Also, after That Fish Place people tend to go to Fishy Business, where last year you got 20 free snails with any purchase. Fishy Business was a small joint with good livestock. That Fish Place is huge with a great selection of tanks, equipment, livestock, and pigs. Even the Petland out there is pretty cool, with some real interesting tanks. I'll see if I can come across some pictures from last year.

We'll have to meet up somewhere at the swap....Already registered and tons of goodies reserved!!!!!!!
Definitely. I think it would be great to meet some SWF'ers in person. I'm going to pre-order some things, I just haven't found the time to really look through fragswapper thoroughly. Still have almost 4 weeks and more stuff gets added every day. Hiker4twenty has some nice things that I've noticed. I've seen people with frag availability in the negatives... what's up with that? I've never pre-ordered frags, let alone used fragswapper, but I'm for sure going to reserve some pieces. There's one dude that was there last year that has a "5th frag is always free" thing going. I'm so pumped for this swap b/c it will be the first year that I'm pre-ordering and the first year that I'll be concentrating on SPS. All other swaps I've been to I just got whatever looked good to me, but now I have a purposeful aquascape, I should have the Ca reactor up and running, and I know what direction I want to take my tank.
Do you guys have any interest in any softies? I have two sinularia, a green and a purple, and a big old toadstool leather. Also some GSP, two different zoa colonies, and a favia. If you go through my pics you'll see what I'm talking about: they are all the softies in my tank, except for my devils finger which I can't let go of quite yet.
On a side note: do I have to upload videos to youtube in order to post them here? If so, that's pretty whack. I'm not going to create an account through you tube to post videos but I'd like to give a video tour of my tank...

Here are some pics of Petland in Lancaster. The guy that owns this Petland is the dude that started Aquarium Adventures, Petland's sister store that specializes in aquatics. I'm not a huge supporter of their stores. There's one within a 10 minute walk from me and I buy fish food there when I have to, and why we checked out this store I can't remember, but it's pretty sick for what it is.
Check out this aquascape. The rock work on the left is suspended, stretching almost 3' over the tank. Pretty interesting for a big box chain store...

Heres a close up of the left hand side of the tank:

Here is their coral display. Pretty impressive for a Petland, eh?

They also have a really cool freshwater ray tank, but nothing like That Fish Place's lagoon.
Krista and Shawn, have you guys been to the NCPARS swap before?

While I was flipping through photo's trying to find pics of that Petland, I came across older pics of a 220 gallon that I've serviced. Check out the cabinetry:

Behind the tank is a bathroom, but the tank is behind closet doors, so you can't watch people taking dumps or anything. The cabinetry was a custom job, done when the kitchen was re-modeled so it matches. Her old tank is my buddy Franks tank, the custom "octagon" I posted pics of a few days ago. She had that tank in the basement and set up as a 3 sided room divider. This job is on her first floor. Outside of her house her husband has an outdoor train than runs through a beautifully landscaped yard, around their heated in-ground pool, and around their two putting greens.... yeah, my price went up as soon as I pulled into their driveway

I've been to TPP/TFP a couple of times. I don't think that I'll be able to go to the frag swap thing. :(
Nice work on that tank!

You need to learn to schedule your vacations around these things brother! When are you leaving for the Dominican? If you're not leaving on the 28th, and if you're not already on vacation on the 28th, you have no suitable excuse
. Thanks for the props on my work, btw. I wish I had the funds and space to do something like that at my spot.
It will be nice to meet some folks from here in person. Isthatright came to a few club meets, but I haven't seen her at the last few, and I haven't really seen her on the forums lately, either. I didn't talk to her much when I met her. The one or two times I saw her at the meets I was being rushed by Janice to get home.
Shawn, you're definitely in, right? I'm definitely in. What about you Christa?

Sweet! We will have to figure out a way for all of us to meet in person! Now to devise a plan to get Seth out here
