I bought a Current USA chiller for my JBJ 24. IF my apartment went above 75 degrees, the tank always skyrocketed to 84 and above. But with the chiller, it stays at a constant 76 degrees, and I never have to run my AC if i dont want too. Good luck. It is worth the money for a chiller.

Same problem here. My 24 aquapod ran at 85 right out of the box. $300 fixed it(chiller). Its funny though, I have 3 20g frag tanks with 3 175w 14k halides, never had a problem with temp.

I have the air conditioning on in my house and have a box fan off to the side of the tank on constantly. This keeps it at about 80 degrees. If I shut off the fan the temp goes up to 83 or so. Oh yeah, I have a 24 gal aquapod with the stock lighting (no hqi)

ya ok i really dont wana spend no 300 buxs right now. Theres a spot above my tank for an ac unite in my apartment. Maybe i should go buy a cheap ac unit. This hobbie is way to expensive hehe Just to damn addictive.

Go buy a cheap fan (stand up) and place it blowing on the back of the tank. I had an issue with my nano getting up to 84-85 with my Retrofit lights. This maintains a 79-80 degree temp.

my aquapod was overheating at first but it was because of a simple mistake on my part by not calibrating heater to the current temp before setting the desired temp.

get a chiller or try getting a fan and have it blow over the tank. Fan will drop the tank temperture in no time but you will have a lot of EVAP

I had the same problem with my 24g nano, simply when you turn out the lights the fans stop circulation through the hood, the excess heat from lights and pumps add up and whamo 84 degrees. Open your front access panel on the hood. I took mine off completely and my tank stays at 77 at night and 78 during day. And I saved 300 bucks. During the day I do have a standup fan blowing across the water surface through the open panel. Easy fix, just look out for faster evaporation.

Wouldn't the 900 maxi-jet can cause the tank to get hot ? Sounds like you may have too much flow for that power head.

84F is just fine. Just set your heater around 83F to prevent the temp from fluctuating too much.

well i bought my friends ac unit and it SUCKS!! It doesnt even blow cold so i have to go out today and buy one and i will try getting a fan for the tank. I went to my lfs and asked them about they also said to take the top flap off my tank and run a fan on the back of it. Kinda funny i wasnt thinking and i asked about some turbo snails to buy and he actully told me to get my heat problem under control. I was kinda supprised.

Mini Prime In-Line Chillers
These chillers are great for small and nano aquariums. Each chiller features a super quiet, energy efficient high BTU compressor and includes an integrated dual-stage digital temperature controller (60° - 80º), 1/2” inlet and 5/8” outlet barb fittings, 6 foot power cord and R134A refrigerant. Rubber feet eliminate vibration noise.
HP BTU Amps/Volts Flow (gpm) Inlet/Outlet Temperature Range Dimensions
1/15 HP 750 1.65 300 - 600 50 gallons 60°- 80°F 9½" x 12" x 11½"
1/10 HP 1485 2.1 420 - 720 80 gallons 60°- 80°F 10" x 11" x 14
ANY know anything about this chiller?? The first one is only 254 dollars and free shipping. Man if i had known i was gonna have these problems w/ this nanocube i would have just would have bought a small tank and made my own nano.
