To get the temp down quicker:
Fan across the top of the tank, also fan on sump if you have one
Take whatever ice cubes you have now, place them inside a ziplock bag, then place that bag inside another and put in your tank, in the sump if you have one.
Freeze RO water so that you can just add that directly to your tank and not have to use all your ziplock bags in the future.
88 is a little high

how many fans do you have on it?
try turning off the lights and extra powerheads, they produce heat, and just leave the filter pump running

I know but you said it was 75 inside the house...that's why I'm confused how your tank got so hot since I keep my house at about the same temp and I actually have to use the heater to get my tank above 80. Is your tank sitting by any open windows or anything like that?
