Looks like San Antonnio is the next Texas town to get hit with snow. Predicting 1" - 2" tomorrow night through Friday. Got a windchill high of 4 this morning, and it's actually colder here than Chicago. Thanks to the Panhandlers and Yankee Texans up around Dallas, the power grid in Texas has become overloaded. Because of some Energy Consortium, our electric company is obliged and required to 'share' our power with those in need up north. So while I'm freezing my rear off, keeping my home at 72 degrees, San Antonio is experiencing rolling power outages throughout the next couple of days so Jerry Jones can keep his monstrousity of a stadium at a warm 75 degrees for the Super Bowl fans.

You'd think with all the danged tree hugging windmills they have down here piping power to your town, that it wouldn't be a problem...

Schenectady NY as of now:
Hubby shoveld about 6" of snow, has a very sore back, and said that its a mix of snow and freezing rain. He seems a little concerned about a power outage as we have no way to keep the tank warm other than warming the water on the stove and putting it back into the tank. Here is that same swingset. Notice how you cant see the one seat of the tetter totter thingie?

Here is that same pool ladder

The snow igloo that my daughter made

And my grooming van. That bumper sits well over a foot and half off the ground. Good thing I am not working today, but tomorrow is going to be a pain.

Its not so bad. Its not too windy so its not that cold out. The worst is just shoveling it away to have the plow put it all back at the end of your driveway.

I"m still not understanding these rolling blackouts. I mean, seriously we do 60 days straight of +100 Degree days with no blackouts, but drop it down into the 20's and we get rolling backouts. Go figure.

Of course they're not getting Jerryland. Hospitals yes, Jerryworld nope.
From what I'd read, they have several grids powering the silver upside down bedpan. And even if they shut down one of those grids, they built in redundancies, and it flips a switch, redirects and powers the shut down area with a different powered grid.

Too much global warming, Sierra Vista (the nearest town) set an all time cold record this morning: 2F. That is not a typo-2 friggin degrees in southern Arizona. For the first time since I moved here, the high temp didn't get above freezing: 24F. That is in SoAz where the normal high/low is 63F/35F. I implore all who care, please drive SUV's and if you can find any CFC's, release it in the atmosphere. Palm trees and citrus are dead (no joke). This in and of itself is natural, I would think, but I am really p@ssed that people still listen to the worlds biggest douche. No matter how cold, it's global warming. I really hope America wakes up before we destroy our economy to enrich the likes of Gore.

I feel the pain on shipments being stuck. My skimmer was held up last week due to bad weather. It was at the UPS facility ten minutes away, but they weren't shipping due to weather and I could not pick it up due to work (I don't get it since my work was open
). I was expecting an order from SWF today, but fed ex is backlogged due to the weather. Hopefully, I can get my shipment next week but I heard a Nor'Easter might be brewing.

Thats the rumor thats going around. It all depends on what way the wind blows. Be looking for something on saturday.
I heard next Thursday into Friday. So, I have to watch this Saturday, too?
That's it I'm moving to FL.

My local news said something about a low moving up the coast and should arrive in our neighborhood on saturday. The ammount of whatever falls depends on what way the wind blows. Too much from the south will give us rain/freezing rain. too much from the north will give us a light dusting of snow. Just enough from the west combined with the southern wet/warm air will give us nice snow. Lots and lots of nice snow.

I've been expecting things (drygoods) for days!!! and the hilarious part is , Fedex no longer estimates a delivery date on my shipments! ! ! Cause they should have been delivered DAYS ago, but are still sitting in Chicago!

(the little area on the tracking page that estimates delivery by date does not even mention "delivery date"! ! haha
I bet the selcon/liquid supplements are FORZEN SOLID, and may be useless OR split their containers!!! it's gonna be a mess . . .
