I feel you pain. I'm waiting on shipments to complete my tank also and I was delayed 3 weeks starting on it as well.

the rabbit cut leaves a groove for the glass to sit in and the pressure of the water actually pinches the silicone tighter so you get a better seal. silicones bond strenght is weaker with acryllic than glass, but if you design it right you nullify that weakness by using the flexibility of the glass to assist in creating an impervious seal.
Yup but they are using PVC, bonds better to glass than acrylic.

RK, is that a roll-on or spray paint?
roll on. its about $11 and change at home depot $12 and change if you want colored (you can get it tinted to quite a selection of color even pinks and purples so it would look like a solid wall of coraline)

still waiting on the glass.......

but I started modding some maxi jets and other powerheads for more flow in the 125 you can check out the mod proggress here
https://forums.saltwaterfish.com/t/369921/maxi-mod-for-fun
slight change of plans I am not going to wind up using the 75g as a sump. I am going to use two different tanks a 40 breeder and a 33cube it will leave in total more water vbolume because I will be able to fill the cube completely and let it overflow into the 40g to allow me the set up I want in the sump. I was having trouble designing everything into one tank without messing with a bunch of baffels. I am going to create a benthic zone in the base of the 33 cube with a lot of egg crate covered by rock, the flow by on that will be interesting to check out... also I was having height issues. cramming a 75g under the stand would have left me minimal clearance over the top rim, access into the tank would have been abysmal, or my DT would have been way high.

Great idea. Sponges and tunicates and other creatures of the dark!!! How high off the bottom will you suspend the eggcrate? Bare bottom under the eggcrate? It would be beneficial to have the flow directed so that any detritus accumulates in one area, and have that area accessible to a pc. of rigid airline tubing to siphon the detritus out.

it will actually be several layers of egg crate (4 or five depending on space) with about an inch or two between each layer to provide as much surface area for benthic growth as possible. as for removing detritus I will probably set a powerhead down under in one corner and put a pvc "handle" on it that goes all the way to the top of the tank so I can turn it on occasionally and spin it in position to kick up detritus when I do my large water changes. I dont want to remove all the detritus in a benthic zone too often as much of the benthic life depends on it for food. the very bottom of the benthic zone will be bare though just so I can remove detritus if it becomes problematic.
got a hold up on the glass, for some reason the glass company has not put my piece into production yet so its going to be friday before I see it.

My take, larger customer must have - no excuse - their glass sooner than yours.
It is a bummer but it is what it is.

apparantly, after talking to the rep for a bit, there is a hold up on all their tempered orders by a week. I would assume that something happened because everyone is held up. be it a large order from a ridiculously rich person or a machine breakdown or something like that. but I am not the only one stuck in limbo at the moment. oh well. life goes on.

ok christmas put a longer hold on this project than I would have liked but such is life. patience is a virtue and all that crud....
on the bright side I ordered my drill bit and bulkheads today for drilling the tank. (google glassholes if you want). they should be here within the week. I also ordered a new batch of salt mix for filling this beast.
I will be bringing home the fixture I am going to retrofit my lights into tonight. the retro fit is going to be somewhat of a nescesity as I want this tank to be my best looking one yet. generally I dont care about seeing wires etc. but I want this one more externally estheticly pleasing than the others. (to keep the wife happy).
I rebraced the floor too keep it from shifting, I was unable to level the floor completely as my house is so old. fortunatly I can build the stand to compensate since it will be built in place.
more to come in the next few weeks

Hey Z, since you're replacing the bottom glass, why didn't you just have them drill it before they tempered it, and run you're overflows through the bottom rather than out the back?
