Nah.. watched his mouth move a few times pretty sure it wasnt a molt.
Nissan i was reading in one of your posts about going with the T-5 fixture. Why did you decided to ditch the MH's for T-5s?

the best reason is:
i been seeing many tanks that have t5ho and their growth and color are better then MH. and people that have MH and went to t5ho it has been a great change.

I love my T5HO on the 29G, BUT would never attempt them on the 225G 30" deep tank...

Question... I almost have the cash for tunze 9002 skimmer but it will require me to remove my 2nd chamber refugium will the skimmer make up for not having the refugium anymore? Am also pondering the idea of adding a nice canister filter that will also house my media and enable me to use water polishing pads. What do ya think?? I would still have the stock filter and pump in place.

Yes, but Spanko uses the 20K which is bluer
the radium is a 20k bulb. it just doesnt wash out colors like the pheonix, many have said that the pheonix is bluer even if its 14k

my tank sps wont do good deep but everything else should and will do fine

you might want to borrow a par meter, you might be hitting close to 200 in some spots of the bottom with the t5

Just a question when you purchased the Bio-Cube system did it come with a built in sump?
No it didn't i pulled everything out of my 2nd chamber, added a light, and some chaeto and made me refugium. The only way to add a sump would be to drill the 3rd chamber which i dont want to attempt. "yet anyway lol"

So when you do a water change do you use RODI water. How do you go about your water changes process. I thinking of getting a Bio-Cube, just want to see if it's the way to go, or just get a slighty bigger tank and get it drilled.

Yes any serious aquarist should use RO/Di either bought from a Lps or purchse your own ro/di unit. I keep a 30 gallon trash can full of Ro/di for water changes and top offs. I bought a power head attached a hose to it for the changes. Drop the pump in the trash can pump out a 5 gallon bucket full. I take the hose off my power head drop that and a heater into the 5 gallons of Ro/Di. Bring to 80 deg. F mixin the right amount of salt and let it mix for a day. Then I take out my pump attach the hose and pump out 5 gallons of tank water into a seperate bucket and discard. Just pour inyour bucket of new water and that's about all there is to it. Also you would not have to drill a regular tank if you didnt want to. They make over flow boxes which do the same thing as drilling. Nano tanks just don't have the room for a overflow box.

Also from what I learned the all in one systems are the inexpensive way to go. It is almost reef ready out of the box. When you start putting a setup together part by part your pockets have to be deep for good quality equipment. But if I had the money I would trade my cube for bigger part by part tank any day. But knowing what I know now I wish I would have got the JBJ Nanocube HQI, or the new BioCube HQI.

Stopped by my Lfs yesterday and picked me up a Koralia 1. Man this thing is nice all kinds of flow in my tank now. Also went ahead and ordered the tuner lighting upgrade for my tank. It adds a 36 watt CF 50/50 to my current lamps for a total of 108 watts YAY!! Also grabbed the fan upgrade, it will hopefully arrive Monday!
