also redid my FT (frag tank) this week end, added bout 30lbs of live rock. honestly looks more nano than a frag tank, but the purpose is still a frag tank. bigger pieces are for frags to grow out and relocate to my DT. but all in all still a frag tank...ill show u a before and after pic of live rock added. if interested i do have a frag tank thread going...

this may sound nutz. but looking up on this page of the full tank shot just after setting up with just the VHO's, and then the full tank shot with the VHO'S plus halides. i personally like the look of just VHO's..........i just know halides are the best reef lighting system. so with the VHO's and the halides ontop of a softies/LPS tank...corals should thrive.....and an anemone or a clam will set the tank off that much more.

on this tank i change my light setup. i still use the (4x) 03 Actinic 72" VHO bulbs, but i replaced the (3x) 175w 14k halides with 10k bulbs...i will take shots of the tank with my real camera later...

im gonna show you pics of what ive done to the QT tank. i added one of those cheap soap dish things to hold the chaeto, i also added live rock to completely cover the black pvc tubing thats in there...
as far as the live rock goes, heres the reason....
a buddy of mine a work, his tank had crashed.. personally he just never took care of it. but anyway, he gave me about a 100lbs of live rock for free.
so i helped a buddy of mine tear down his 29g and redo everything....EVERYTHING...cant post pics. lost my camera and lost everything. (think its at my mothers in PA), anyway i gave him about 35-40lbs to stock his tank up alittle. he had only about 25lbs in there.
the rest of the rock i split between my 125DT, my 20L FT, my 20L QT, my fuge in the 55g sump, and my 10g sump with fuge...sounds like alot. but i spread everything out nicely and evenly. i took a hammer to a bunch of rock to make rubble for fuges and frags...
i redid the frag tank again, but ill post those in my frag thread...

on my 125DT i will be adding an airline to the drains to that they drain properly. currently i do not have airline to them, so everynow and again you can hear the drain actually sucking in air. no pleasurable, get annoying. i will also be adding a split on my return line back to the tank, so i can one line run back into the tank, and the other rite back into the other side of sump...will be doing this saturday, along with a water change.
speaking of water change, i have also upped by volume on water changes to 25-30g every two weeks....
also speaking of improvements, i have currently redid the baffles in the sump so that my skimmer runs the way it should. before i had the baffles alittle to high, and the water level in the skimmer chamber was to high. but not now. so will all of these improvements by this weekend and with fall season quickly approaching., everything will be way more inline and consistant...

well i guess ill give an update. i recently upgraded my HK3's to HK4's. nice upgrade in flow, not to harsh either. corals are responding well to the added flow. i also upgraded the lites too. i got 4x 72" VHO bulbs (actinic) and 3x 175w XM 10K metal halide bulbs. these bulbs are very nice. 10K bulbs good for corals, but are not as green as other bulbs which is nice. the new lites give the tank a new brighter look. i also upgraded the skimmer also. currently i am running a ETSS reef devil, i just purchased a MSX200. a nice skimmer that is decently overrated for my 125DT, but i cannot add this skimmer to my system cause i can not fit it under the stand. i am running a 55g tank as a sump, and the tank is to high. so in the summer i will be redoing the ******** of my house. so when the tank has to come down, i will change out the 55g for a 33L. i am taking away for total water volume, but the upgrade on the skimmer should work nicely....here are a few pics....
