When asked about the troop surge in Iraq Obama says knowing what he knows now he would have still opposed the surge. Combine that with him creating his "iraq stratigy" before he even went to Iraq and met with the military leaders??? Got help us if this clown gets elected.

And you don't think he has access to all of the military reports without going to Iraq? Do you think the surge was greatly impacted by the $$$ we've given to various tribes and militias? I'm not saying the surge hasn't been successful but there have been other factors at play. How does going to the Green zone and reading the reports give you any additional knowledge of what's going on in Iraq? Aren't they the same reports going to Washington? We live in the age of mass media, it's not hard to turn on the TV to find out what's going on (the evil liberal media).
Anyone else find it amusing that McCain thinks Pakistan borders Iraq or that Czechoslovakia is still a country...you wanna talk about ignorance of global events

We'll need God's help.
Unfortunately, many won't remember or care what Obama says. They will remember how "presidential" he looks jaunting around the Middle East. For others, it's like a high school crush. They just love Obama and care less about his politics.

Going and talking to the commanders is a great start. Obama is still stuck on the mindless mantra of "I will end the war in x months". You can't ask a report specific questions or get clarifications or updates on events that have occured in the months since the report was produced.
And I am not too bothered about McCain referring to the Czeck republic as Czechoslovakia as it was known until 93 or saying Iraq instead of iran while discussing the Pakistan problem.
A clear demonstration ignorance of foreign policy and global events is Obama's lack of understanding that Al Qeada is already in Iraq, His pronouncement he would make military strikes inside Pakistan despite the fact it would probably lead to a fundamentalist takeover of the government and it's nuclear weapons and his response that he wouldn't support the surge on political grounds. Until about a week ago his website was still saying the surge was a failure.

Ever noticed the glazed over look in the eyes of the people placed behind Obama at his speeches? It's like watching those women that followed CHarlie Manson. Flat out scarry

Seriously, what do you really expect from an extreemist liberal running for office.
Anyone think it is funny that he is still against the surge, but he suggests a "surge" of 10,000 troops in afghanistan.
Makes me laugh.
I agree with Jmick however, and have mentioned this in a thread, what can he possibly learn by going over their that he could have learned in the usa. It is just silly.

I've been waiting on a post about Obama.... Your point is same opinioin I have. They call it the Anbar Awakinging, which is when the Iraqi's began fighting back at Al Qaeda.... So not to discount the "Surge" but much of the violence and reduction of it can be attributed to the militias that have not recieved the credit... I've also read stories in which critics attack McCain for his lack of knowledge of the "Anbar Awakinging"
What I find interesting is all the endorsements that Obama has been getting internationally. I mentioned before that the world is just as interested in this election as we are, if not more, and that most heavily favor Obama. Europe does, as well as the Middle East. When the King of Jordan personally drives you to the Airport in his car... that says a lot.

Anyone else find it interesting that he said he was a "citizen of the world" and based more importance on that than being a us citizen.

It also seems that Bush Admin are adopting some of Obama's policy plans.... Bush has talked about a "timeline", and have also began talks with Iran, as well as more troops to Afganistan.

no he called them states, not territories. And with 3 or 4 more to go... But don't worry he did top himself. He said "the people I will be working with for the next 8-10 years" (insinuating as president)...

They sure don't....just like when McCain says that Obama is going to raise taxes on middle class and small business owners...
