And you don't think he has access to all of the military reports without going to Iraq? Do you think the surge was greatly impacted by the $$$ we've given to various tribes and militias? I'm not saying the surge hasn't been successful but there have been other factors at play. How does going to the Green zone and reading the reports give you any additional knowledge of what's going on in Iraq? Aren't they the same reports going to Washington? We live in the age of mass media, it's not hard to turn on the TV to find out what's going on (the evil liberal media).
Anyone else find it amusing that McCain thinks Pakistan borders Iraq or that Czechoslovakia is still a country...you wanna talk about ignorance of global events
Going and talking to the commanders is a great start. Obama is still stuck on the mindless mantra of "I will end the war in x months". You can't ask a report specific questions or get clarifications or updates on events that have occured in the months since the report was produced.
And I am not too bothered about McCain referring to the Czeck republic as Czechoslovakia as it was known until 93 or saying Iraq instead of iran while discussing the Pakistan problem.
A clear demonstration ignorance of foreign policy and global events is Obama's lack of understanding that Al Qeada is already in Iraq, His pronouncement he would make military strikes inside Pakistan despite the fact it would probably lead to a fundamentalist takeover of the government and it's nuclear weapons and his response that he wouldn't support the surge on political grounds. Until about a week ago his website was still saying the surge was a failure.
